If Nigeria is on the road to Venezuela, it’s the 8-years of the PDP maladministration that put Nigeria on that road. See the display of a collection of thieves

Tinubu government is a very big disaster.
We thought we were handling the system to group of economics wizards who were to take us out of the mess the country was swimming in.
Not knowing that Tinubu is empty headed.
Tinubu surround himself with foolish fellows
Tinubu and his team are now running Nigeria and Nigerians into deeper mess.
God help us

If PDP that has been out of power since 2015 is still the one you are blaming for the present case of Nigeria, then, you are not saying the truth.
It is totally glaring to anyone with little knowledge of what is happening to know who is to blame for this problem we are facing now.

You're no longer on the table, that's why you're now seeing clearly.

Assuming you gave us good electoral laws and decentralise security and other key sectors, we won't be here today.

Even all those on the table today who are thinking of only themselves instead of doing the right things, will still complain tomorrow.

And the circle continues.

It's a lie, Nigeria is the best country to live in right now. We the Ronu miscreants still buy fuel at N196 per liter plus I personally bought a bag of perboiled rice for N18,000 yesterday. The dollar figures are just being bandied by enemies of our amiable president. No government has been this good to us. Emilokan till 2031.

He is a sawdust filled brain man with nothing to offer because you can't give what you don't have.
Any monkey can remove subsidy and devalue the Naira.
It's what you do before, during and after, knowing the ripple effect of those policies that should distinguish you from the monkey.
Tinubu has not proved he has a brain better than that of an ordinary monkey,if at all he has anything in it.
You are spot on, i have said since that we should have defended the naira, removed subsidy and then invest massively in agriculture to boost self sufficiency before the full float.
Now the cost of doing business doesn't make any sense at all.

Sit down and use your brain. Every challenge presents opportunities. Stop wailing.

if you had sat down to use your brain, you should not have found it difficult answering these questions instead of getting emotional.

1. why should Nigerians proffer solutions to the situation?

2. what is the reason for Tinubu becoming president if Nigerians have to proffer solutions and help him do his job?

3. what is the food crisis that Nigeria has?

Kenochi:
I have always wondered why Nigerians have resolved to not use this situation to proferr solutions to this food crisis

The three biggest factors militating against this so called food crisis are security, high cost of logistics to evacuate the food produced and infrastructure
Apart from the challenge of security which the governors have limited control over, why aren't they setting up logistics company and providing the infrastructure to help the struggling farmers

All we are hearing is Venezuela, can't this people start buying tractors and modernising agriculture across their states
A state like Ogun state can feed the whole of the South West, the Religious organizations in that state alone have close to 10,000 Hectares for religious activities and the state can't point to a single farm owned by the state

Abeg let them stop all this Venezuela talk and put on their thinking caps,as for security didn't I just read that Edo State(PDP state) just recruited 1500 Vigilante to help protect the state

A word is enough for the wise

Well said

Nigerians want cheap fuel, yet they cannot extract, process and market the fuel without destroying their environment. The State and Local government that are close to the people offer nothing but handout from the federal government.

Both Nigerian and Venezuelan hardships are a direct consequence of American Zionazi imperialism. Our president unfortunately was installed by Zionist America, they're they ones running the show, Tinubu is their puppet. Americans are notorious for destroying economies, from Libya to Venezuela to Cuba, e don reach our turn.

May Israel and Zionism be destroyed.
Peep my thread below. It'll all make sense why our economy is crumbling...

Wallahi. It can never come from APC. I didn't support them last election but I didn't oppose them either, but I hoped this new administration will bring fallout upon us. This recent Isreali genocide on Gaza has exposed so many things about Israel, how they control governments and install leaders for their own advantage. The report included the 2015 Nigerian presidential election where APC took over. Since then it has been hardship after hardship.

Peep my thread below, since nl mods have decided not to bring it to fp

Yes, but APC knew what to do, but sacrificed good economic decisions and took loans to maintain the appearance of a good life, making a bad matter even worse.

Used to be winning Miss World and Miss Universe several times in a row.

Quoted wikipedia

As of 2024, Venezuela has a total of 24 wins at Big Four international beauty pageants, the most by any country in the world, and consisting of seven Miss Universe titles, six Miss World titles, nine Miss International titles, and two Miss Earth titles

Yes, because like Venezuela, we kept subsides on petrol, and got into debt.

Venezuela sells fuel at N40 per liter. That means they spend most of ther revenue subsidsing fuel, and their refining capacity is falling. Did I mention they lose billions of dollars to massive smuggling. Massive smuglling.

Nigeria is not there yet because we have been partially removing subsidy over the years, and because in the 1980's we started increasing local content in many things we produce here (Which is why we still make beer here, and toilet roll....Venezuela lost that capacity to do so since)

But we will be there if we keep on paying subsides to keep petrol below N700 and if we keep paying subsides to the power sector, keeping it from making a profit, and making it lose money. A poor power sector means no energy for industrial development

We better stop practicing socialist polices that we cannot afford. ANd we better start fighting corruption, because the elite are getting away with things that are making the poor bitter.
do your research well to know why venezuela is suffering

With the Exchange 💱 rate today an average Diasporan is a millionaire to borrow a thousand dollars and sent home $1000=N1,500,000

The implications is that you might sell your house 🏠 to be able to raise funds to buy a flight ✈️ tickets to travel abroad.

NAIRA is becoming worthless everyday 😭 !!

IN THE 1980's Venezuela had the same issues they have now. Did I mention that the government then was pro-USA, Pro -West.

When you stick your economy to oil, and the oil price rises, your economy looks rich and prosperous. When the oil prices collapses as happened in 1980's for many oil producers ....palava starts.

Venezuela's own is even worse and bad pass our own

Anyway, for more info about Venezuela read this book : Crude Nation: How oil riches ruined Venezuela. You can get a free copy here (registration required, but it is free). Tells the whole story from a to z. Blames everyone.

NIgeria would have been there if we had not taken some measures like improving local content, and not importing everything. But we can still get there.

I think most Nigerians overrated Tinubu and out of the sentiment of delegating duties to loyal folks of his past governance.

Unfortunately, LAGOS is not Nigeria and Things are Falling Apart now.
