Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo state, has been appointed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to lead a seven-member committee that will conduct the party’s governorship primary election in Edo state.

A statement by Sulaiman Argungu, APC national organising secretary, said the primary election has been slated for February 17.

Argungu said Bassey Otu, governor of Cross River, would serve as the deputy chair of the primary election committee.

“Other members of the Primary Election Committee include: former Osun state deputy governor, Mrs Titilayo Laoye-Tomori; APC’s flag bearer in the Plateau State 2023 governorship election, Nentanwe Yilwatde Goshwe; Umar Musa; Lawan Garba and Rabiu Suleiman who will serve as the Secretary,” the organising secretary said.

“Also constituted is the membership of the Edo State gubernatorial Primary Election Appeal Committee, chaired by Barr. C.C Udenwa. Other members include: Muhammad Zakaria Sarina; Udogu Anthony Chijoke; Muhammad Garin Ali and Yunusa Mohammed who will serve as Secretary.”

The election and appeals committee would be inaugurated on Thursday at 4:00 pm at the APC national headquarters in Abuja.

The party has since cleared all the twelve aspirants jostling for its ticket to contest the September 22 Edo governorship election.

My own personal choice is an Agba/Danko/Denco ticket in any particular order. Obviously two out of three as one is for Gorvenor and the other for Deputy.

I think Dennis idahosa will emerge as APC candidate on Saturday. For me I think it's a wrong calculation by Oshiomhole. He's not a clever politician at all. If the APC loses the election,he should be held accountable.

Even Barr idahagbon has opposed this.i analysed and predicted this earlier.denco is a good candidate actually but he is not esan unfortunately.oshio wants him because he is the most loyal and trusted.he doesn't want another disloyal fellow.
I want to disagree with you about oshio intelligence but I can't help agree also.when he contested for gov twice,he showed intelligence.wven how he won party chair,senate and piloted tinubu campaign.but him choosing obaseki in 2016 instead of loyal odubu,dropping obaseki in 2020 instead of allowing him a second term,being too radical and aggressive as party chair and now choosing denco is not clever.
He has given the initiatives to pdp but APC can still win if he can ensure bloc votes from Edo north,get some votes from Edo central

The best thing Asuẹn from Ibadan can do now is to tell Ọbasẹki not to campaign for him, same thing President Tinubu told Bubu.

The dislike of Ọbasẹki in Ẹdo state is so much more than that of APC.

Asuẹn will win Ẹdo central because of the Esan factor and that's it, North and South would be a calamity for him and PDP. If APC can put forward the right candidate, that person might even drag parts of Central with him sef.
