Saying the South East didn't vote Ojukwu in 2003 because he was nationally irrelevant, he was previously the Biafra champion therefore can't be one Nigeria, and he wasn't contesting under PDP makes their vote swing about the candidate and not necessarily about them as a people.

The South East tends to give bloc votes and they've given these bloc votes (circa 80%) to candidates that were non-Igbos, I don't see why them giving an extra 10% to an Igbo candidate automatically makes them tribalsists.

Walahi arguing with you people is more painful than stabbing my eyes with a rusty nail

Between 1999 and 2022, the Igbo bloc vote was for PDP. Saying they voted for non-Igbo candates is irrelevant, if they only vote for one party from top to bottom. If PDP is sweeping at council and governorship level where all competing candidates are Igbo, then it's clear that the PDP vote at presidential level is itself a tribal vote.

This logical conclusion is less mentally taxing than the calculation on what to eat for dinner.

The allocation of the tribal vote however went from PDP as usual to Peter Obi in LP for the first time in 23 years, coinciding with the first time an Igbo candidate who came 2nd in the previous election was contesting for presidency as the only igbo candidate.

Obidients use your brain ffs. It's not everything that has to be argued.

Notwithstanding denials from government, Nigeria is paying about N907.5 billion subsidy on premium motor spirit (PMS) otherwise called petrol monthly

So now you are saying Obi is no longer irrelevant and was backed more as a politician than Ojukwu and that's fine.
So the SE picked Obi as their choice because he has shown working as a governor and also has political influence abi?
Because you have not shown us where the SE voted Obi because he is igbo.

The SE has always voted who they thought was going to perform the best and all the people the SE has supported have been the best presidents we ever had.
Those they didn't support that won are the worst presidents we've had.

So who knew, maybe the SE looked at Ojukwu and said big man, we love you but you are not competent enough and we are going with OBJ 🤔.

Maybe the same SE looked at Obi and the rest especially atiku and tinubu. They said Obi was the best and reality has well proven the region right again.

Infact the SE has consistently shown they will vote the best person regardless if you are igbo or not as evidenced by history.

Explain how OBJ a coup plotter was best in 1999 for a new democratic dispensation

Then how Yaradua was best

Then how motherfvcking GEJ was best when he swept SE going for 2nd term

Dont retrofit nonsense here for us.

Russia interest rate today (16%) - indicator of real inflation - is close to Nigerias and more akin to the interest rates found in a banana Republic

In looking at this, it's best to keep it around the top 2-3 candidates since they are the ones that stand a realistic chance.

You Yoruba guys who took insults from your own tribesmen and even strays from others (yes, I admit it) just because you wouldn't bow to the ridiculous idea that Tinubu was some sort of esoteric God who had prepared for Nigeria since when he was in his mother's womb like the prophet Jeremiah.

Iamoyindamola/Sod09 is another person I deeply respect, particularly because he's Muslim.

Igbos voted OBJ twice (even over Ojukwu), Yaradua (over Okadigbo who was Buhari running mate then), GEJ and Atiku. When e reach Obi turn them say we dey tribalistic.

Most of the original post was to praise Blueraydick and iamoyindamola, but look at the kasala you caused with the bolded last paragraph grin grin

Which of Ojuwku, Okafigbo, or Nwobodo were contesting on PDP platform?

.

As at 2003.

All 5 SE incumbent governors were PDP candidates all going for 2nd term.

Obj was going for 2nd term as the incumbent PDP president.

All 15 senators from the SE were incumbent PDP candidates running for second term.

And you expect a non-PDP presidential to get votes in that region?

Stop being incredibly stupid...its not fashionable.

All igbo choices that won presidency delivered for this country.
All choices that Igbos didn't pick and won have destroyed this country.

The PDP was seen as an Igbo party. Therefore, the PDP was cardinal and more important than any other condisideration to Igbos.

If the PDP fielded a stick, it would win in the South East.

"A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former minister of aviation, Osita Chidoka, has said the South-East geo-political zone should back the party in the 2023 elections, claiming that it would be unwise for Igbos to leave the party they have supported since 1999."

"He added that advocates of an Igbo presidency outside the PDP are not wrong, but maintained that the main opposition party is the shortest route for the Igbos to clinch the presidency."

https://dailypost.ng/2023/01/23/2023-igbos-cant-throw-away-24-year-investment-in-pdp-chidoka/

PDP is not an Igbo party and the true intention of the majority of Igbos is not reflected in our National politics

PDP only became an Igbo and Niger Delta party when the rest of the country ported to APC leaving Igbos and Niger Deltans stranded with Goodluck Ebele

They had no choice but to stay with Goodluck. Had it been Yaradua that was president then. Igbos would have moved to APC - caveat, by Igbos, I mean their political class not the majority. Most Igbos don't care about the zoo.
