It wouldn't be a problem. I also passed through same because I had a valid USA visa. The only spaces asked you was same with mine. Be calm, all things been equal, your tourist visa would be issued in less than 2 weeks. My passport was requested after 9 days of my biometric. Congrats in advance. Shalom!

Good day everyone. Please I need assistance. I’m applying for a Canada tourist visa. I used the new website and filled the form. I have a valid UK and U.S and I’ve been to over 15 countries. As documents, I was provided space to upload only my US visa, passport page and employment letter and just 1 additional document. I did this. I have other supporting documents. How do I show this? It say based on my application these are the documents I’m meant to provide and they will ask for additional ones if need be. Now I’ve scheduled Biometrics. Will this be a problem?

It's common for those applying for Permanent Residency (PR) to receive an ADR (Additional Document Request) for their proof of funds if the rates have changed. However, if they are working with the rate of submission date, why do they send people ADRs to update their proof of funds?

I thought the reason for updated pof is to make sure funds in the account are not for demonstration purpose.

Nope, the VO will use the prevailing rate at the time of processing.

But despite the fact that they will use the current exchange rate at the time of processing, some lucky applicants with insufficient funds are still fortunate enough to make it through without issues.

It’s good to have enough money available as POF before filing out an application form. I believe the days of 3 or 4 million are over.

I've been following silently for some time. I saw a post by Opeyemi007 earlier this year about his visa turnaround time and it encouraged me to apply, so I wanted to pay it forward and share this to encourage others.
Application submission: Feb 2nd, 2024
Biometrics: Feb 5th, 2024
Eligibility completed: Feb 12th, 2024
BVL and PPR: Feb 16th, 2024

I applied for a tourist visa. I have a valid US visa which I have not used yet and have been to two countries.

The only documents I submitted were my passport data page, copy of US visa, employment letter, and payslips (optional) .

Goodluck to all those still waiting!

Hello everybody. Recently I've been so confused especially because of my academics.

Last year, after completing WAEC and NECO, my mom and I were talking about schooling abroad and we decided that I should make some research with my phone. This research started November 2023. After making my research for about 2 months, to understand the educational system in some countries like US, UK, Canada, the Caribbean and Australia, I finally came to a conclusion in January that I wanted to school in Canada so I did further research on Canadian Universities and finally decided and picked University of Manitoba. And then did further research on how to get a Canadian Study permit. (After going through alot of things I saw on the IRCC website, I finally understood, at least to an extent).

So I discussed with my parents about everything and what the whole process entails: from gaining admission into a DLI and applying for the Study permit, I told them the tuition was about $23,000 estimate and that I needed at least $20,630 as proof of funds. And after hearing that, they said it was ALOT of money. My dad told me to calculate everything I needed to get there and get back to him. After doing the whole calculation with my mom, I concluded that 60M Naira would be enough for the tuition and other fees, POF, accomodation, flight and others. Meanwhile, I had already submitted my application (did it myself), it was just my application fee left. We didn't want to pay the $120 application fee yet until we were sure that we would do the whole process.

I discussed with my parents and they said it was alot but they could try to get it. I honestly believe that studying abroad is not a do or die affair but is there any harm in trying? We could try, maybe it would turn out to be one of the best decisions for me and my family. If not, I already have back-up plans (I registered for JAMB) Other than that, my parents have always wanted to sponsor me to a school overseas (I'm the first child so yeah they've always wanted it).

They could get the money but I wanted to apply for September intake 2024 (because it's obviously the best intake) and I think it's a very short time interval because I should have drawn a study plan at least 2 years before I wanted to leave. I feel like if I rush things, my visa could get denied and it would just be a wastage of time and money.

I'm just 16 years old, I'll be 17 by 16th of June, 2024. And I don't really want to waste time in my education because the clock is ticking. So I don't know, should I just wait till next year, September 2025 or do you think I should go ahead with the process this year. I need honest opinions because it would be really useful. Alot of you are pretty much experienced than I and my parents are, so your advice would be really helpful.

Also, if you know any way I could be able to get proof of funds and tuition (it could be through a loan) and get visa approval, please share.

Hello everyone

I recently got admission to UCW in November 2023 for my MBA applied for my visa in January 2024 . Did my medical on the 18th January and biometrics 22nd January. Got a response from IRCC visa rejection on the 13th of February. I am meant to resume 8th of July 2024. I have been down since then .

Also I applied with my husband but his application is visiting visa ( we are yet to get a response on his application) we got married legally , church and traditionally in November. No children yet . Had 28m in his account and my company was also supporting.

Purpose of refusal from the letter sent to us is that no prove that I will be leaving Canada after my studies and insufficient financial support.

We used an agent and it was the agent who advised us to use this method for me and my husband. I have been depressed since I got the news . What’s your advice on this please 🙏

It is for everyone, not designed for one particular country, and there is no special application portal for the CAN+ visa program.

The system will screen all applications for CAN+ eligibility, and any application that shows that the applicant has traveled to Canada in the last 10 years or holds a valid U.S. non-immigrant visa will be selected for the CAN+, and the application will be sent to the visa office for expedited processing.

Hello

How will a family application where one parent visited US recently while the other parent and 2 kids without a US Visa be handled? Will their family application also fall under the CAN+ program?

Good evening everyone, I have been applying for canada study visa since 2022 and I’ve been refused 3 times base on POF.
Now I’m thinking of going to Canada with a visit visa and my proof of funds is really good. Please do you think it will fly? Or they’d judge me base on my previous refusals?

I don't know much about this, but it's not a bad idea to try.

If you intend to apply together, ensure that the parent with a valid US visa is the primary applicant.

If you package the application well, you should be fine since each application is judged individually.

Also, remember to declare any past refusals, especially those from Canada and the United States.

While you wait for people's opinion, I will suggest you also go to "study in Canada" nairaland thread/ OJC study route on telegram as this thread is majorly for visit visa.

Best of luck

Let the one with the US visa be the primary applicant for others to tap from the blessing grin. Then indicate the number of people accompanying you

My little opinion

Now that you believe your POF is really good, focus all your energy on proving to the VO CONVINCINGLY on your application that you will return.

Don't also lie or change profession because the VO might watch out for misrepresentation when scanning through your 3 study visa applications. Ensure nothing on your VV application contradict what you filled on your 3 study visa applications. If possible, go back to your past applications to know exactly what you filled to avoid contradiction. Again, I repeat, avoid MISREPRESENTATION.

Let all ties be strong in your VV application for the VO to see your sure return....Family tie, Financial tie and Economic tie.
In summary, let all your docs you will submit be screaming "I WILL RETURN, I WILL RETURN" to the VO grin grin

Please, I am sorry to say this....After submitting 3 consecutive time before now, change your pattern. As you apply don't let your left hand to know what your right hand did(parable), and pray.

I wish you best of luck. Shalom!!!

I can’t say for sure which documents the agent uploaded exactly but this above documents were made available to him doing the admission process.

The pof submitted was 28m

My company will be paying me salaries in the cost of me being away for studying that was written in the application that’s the support they are giving.

They are not supporting my husband.

Please I need the checklist for documents to be submitted for study permit in Canada .

Your company will continue to pay your salary while you’re studying abroad. I guess your hubby owns the company.

Anyway, I think a letter from your employer stating that they will give you a monthly stipend (study allowance) for the entire duration of the program is necessary.

They can also state that you will be returning to work for them at the end of your program.
