There are tons of simulations before the actual building process. They calculate the seismic activity and other factors. Those bunkers have underground tunnels so don't think they didn't work it out.
If you are talking about life after a nuclear war, that is another thing entirely as you and your children can't live there for that long as a nuclear war as the radiation and probable global climatic will be another thing to contend with or you want to live for some couple of more years just to die alone?

A good friend of mine raise a thread here on Nairaland about the population of the world before the flood and in that post, I pointed out that until recent history, the world population never cross a billion because of many factors chiefly war.

War over land was so rappant and that is the reason that gave birth to nations as people have to form ties to protect their land.

Every fertile land was drain in blood, so there was no way the popular could climb that high. Modern nations and medicine has help humanity grow and another I mentioned for the cause of population increase is culture.

While many of us sees a lot traditional believes and culture about modesty of woman how it put strict rules on sexuality outside marriage, all these help to put a check population explosion, today with the kind of freedom we have, children do give birth children nowadays and it is this population explosion that is cause of crime and all that.

2. These bunkers are not built to protect from sudden events, they are built to protect from predictable events.
I know you don't understand so I will further explain.
For example, if there is a nuclear war, that's where the bunker comes in. Now, it would be foolish to be in Aba when your bunker is in Osun during a nuclear war.
It's also built to protect in case of climate change events. These again are not sudden events. So why would you be buying second hand cloths in Aba during such events.
So for example, if a comet is going to hit the earth, satellites would have seen this long before it's in our orbit. Only an idiot would spend the time buying second hand cloths rather than taking shelter in his bunker.

I am no kid, I experienced a lot of those things and I telling things was as easy for everyone either. How many people can boast of a black and white TV then not to talk of color TV.
