I started it and it seemed a little off so i just stopped it around 10 minutes in and may continue it later. What will surprise me, is that it is actually good as i fully expect it to be bland.

On the new avatar series, it still baffles me that in this days and time, people still go online to read reviews on series and then allow these reviews influence your taste of series or movies.

Immediately i stopped reading reviews Last year, i have enjoyed watching series or movies the more.

When you watch a series or movie with an open mind, you tend to enjoy it the more and be more entertained.

For Avatar: The Last Airbender, the first season of the source cartoon was pretty weak anyway...so expecting the live action to somehow be epic when adapting the weakest part of the story is well...
The adaptation just needs to be good enough to keep viewers interested in a second season.

Season 2 of ATLA is the best season imo...that is where we will truly know how good the adaptation is...
But I will still drop thoughts when I watch this adaptation sha

Movies remake always ends in disappointment, I’ve been waiting for avatar release only to see this, they tried though but the ginger isn’t there,
Ep1
katara was a different character entirely, if she continues this way, it’ll put her as a side character forced main character
Aang cartoon spirit wasn’t there, over sauced, aang’s actions was what made him cute not his face, he should be more stronger and fun like
Soka was good
Zuko was perfection
Iroh was decent
They were jumping the important parts

They changed the series to emotional drama, but still it’s a good show, hopefully ep2 will be better
Fire nations are pretty solid

Great acting, characters. Pretty good writing. Plot is interesting enough but drops off towards the end. Very nice cinematography and overall vibes. 8/10.

I just finished watching episode one of the Netflix's ATLA series.

I'm actually suprised. This is better than I expected and my expectations were pretty low.
I love the changes they made to the fire nation. They showed us the massacre of the air nomads. It was brutal.
Fire bending is very well done in this show. They're roasting people alive here. Fire bending is very deadly, this is one part of the animated show that Netflix improved.

The visuals are spectacular. You need to see this in 720p or higher resolutions. It's really beautiful.

The kid that plays Aang is okay. He has the charm even though it's just a little bit but it's there.
Sokka is okay. He has some of the traits of the cartoon version without the comedy. I thought the actor did enough to convince me.
Katara is bland and boring. Nothing about this Katara resembles the one in the cartoon.
The guy that plays Zuko did his homework well. Zuko here is straight out of the cartoon. Same vibe and everything.

The bending is actually good. Especially fire bending. Earth bending is very well done, I was impressed by the earth bending I saw in the first minutes of the episode.

Episode one started on a high. But the pacing was a bit off. Sometimes it felt like they were rushing. Episode one alone covers the first two episodes of the original show.

The first episode is a 7/10 in my opinion.

It's okay but there's room for improvement.

Resident alien is my go to show, I love that show like mad. Maybe because of the comedy story line and I am very big on comedy. Season 3 here we goooo

What is baffling me is that three new series might come out today with each series having more than 8 episodes each.
Before the end of tomorrow, the writer guy will give reviews of all three series which means he is telling us he he watched more than 25 episodes of series in 24 hours.

The first scene had a lot of Amateur acting...but the very next scene - the genocide of the air normads is very well done.
