Why do you Igbos on Nairaland have something foolish to say about everybody not Igbo on this forum.

Just few days ago it was Adeboye, then Bwala now Gowon. Are you people cursed for God sake ? What as Gowon down wring to visit Tinubu that you Igbos are lamenting about again.
Why do idiots think anyone who condemns evil on nairaland is an Igbo man?

There are 250+ tribes here including foreigners...

Gowon as never ever spoken about the killings in his state,he is always used to rally support for any government in charge. He presents himself as a humble masses friendly man but
he never ever says anything against the elites, at least some of his colleagues like general danjuma had spoken.

He acts like he is such a Christian godly man but he always supports every government no matter what they do even when they commit evil acts.

The atrocities in plateau state doesn't seem to move him one bit atleast publicly.

Moreso he seems to always talk down and deride the masses anytime he speaks publicly.

He never for once spoke against buhari, despite buhari supervising a clean swipe of violence of his state folk.

A former president like Obasanjo had severally spoken against buhari.

Though his time as a president was relatively good,he supervised a genocidal war.

There's something awkward about the MAN ,I can't place my finger on it but he is strange.
Very cunny man, he lives in Zaria. He's house in millionaires Quarters is delapidated .He doesn't even visit Plateau State. He's nice but not good. Very wicked christian man

Gowon was fighting, killing millions of people, telling the world that he is doing this because 'one Nigeria' will be the best in the future

I'm glad Gowon is alive to see what his 'one Nigeria' has become. Today, Gowon can no longer sleep in his local government in Plateau State
But Igbos support One Nigeria, which is why they are all over Nigeria.

If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be millions of them in Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Jos, Ibadan, Kaduna etc.

They’d all be in Onitsha and Umuahia.

Igbos are thriving and building mansions in their villages precisely because of One Nigeria.

So shut up.

Talking does not make any impact if you are not talking to the right persons.
If he feels the need to talk about the killings, speaking to the media won't change anything.
Just like he did now, he went to meet the President and spoke with him, that's how elder statesman are to act not jumping up and down the media.
Obasanjo during the time of Buhari went about saying so many things in the media but not once did he go to meet Buhari one on one to discuss issues and give advice.
Gowon did go meet Buhari during his presidency......did it stop the killings in Plateau rather it persisted.

That he doesn't come out to the media to speak doesn't mean he is speaking.
Do you follow him around to know when he meets with the governor or calls the governor on the phone, now he has met with the president I believe this is among the issues they have discussed.
I was at a very senior boss house some years ago at night, he sent his personal body guard to wake me up, the deputy governor of the state (I won't mention the state) was coming, the deputy governor came in around 2am at night we had the meeting for about 2 hours and he left, he came in a hilux with just the driver and a police officer. The elderstateman had asked for an audience with the deputy but the deputy said it would be disrespectful for such a senior citizen to come, so the deputy governor came over instead out of respect.

My point is, the fact that you don't see God in on media talking doesn't mean he is silent.
Gowon should come out and condemn the incessant Fulani slaughter in the plateau.

He should speak out loud 📢 to the hearing of the UN.

This is only when I will believe he is not in support of the extrajudicial killings at his backyard.

It's Only when igbos are involved that's when they rant.

There are thousands of Lebanese, Ghanaians, Indians in Lagos, Enugu and Kano etc. They don't care anything about 'one Nigeria'. There are millions of Nigerians in different countries all over the world, they rarely think about those countries being one.

Never confused the fact that people migrated to where they see opportunity to mean that they care about that country being one

in Nigeria only igbos and fulanis have spirit of nationalism they understand Nigeria better than any ethnic group these two are very self preservative than any other the rest are just mugu,if igbos are killed the way plateau people are being killed it could have beimg another bloody civil war,the fulanis just want to entire north and one southwest state with sea access and its a done deal
I'm sure the people of Plateau State can take care of themselves. They know these bandits far better than any of us do so they should be able to deal with them.

Gowon is not your problem. Leave the old man alone. Maybe you don't know, if not for Gowon, you won't have Saturday as a rest day. De there de ferment trouble for Christian and godly man
I think you that many of you should try to understand that this man gave the order to murder millions of our relatives — many of them were just children. He has since offered no apology for what he did, and many of you justify his actions as just being the consequences of war.

I'm not going to get into a debate about the Biafran war with you or anyone here. All I'm doing is adding some context.

This comes from someone who knows pa Gowon reasonably well. Gowon is what every ex head of state should be like. He does not usurp the power of the people to remove their leaders through the ballot box. For an ex military head of state he understands democracy very well.

He does not hold a party card like some and He
speaks to leaders through the back channels that ALL
ex heads of states have. So he does not choose the
unnecessary drama of fiery public speeches. No ex head of state needs to write public letters and slag off current heads of states in public.

Finally as an ex heads of state he understands that the public only sees what any government wants them to see and he knows that issues are not as simple and black and white as they appear because he like other ex heads of state has access to a certain ( not the highest) level of security briefing.

This is a gentleman that has learned the limits of power and I am not surprised that he has outlived many of his younger colleagues. He made his own mistakes particularly in the latter part of his rule but I believe he has learned that power is transient and comes from God alone.

You don't expect him to say anything because same people are the one feeding him, if you know what fg budget for past heads of states, then you will know that the country is in mess. He will always try to become friends to any government because he knows what he is going to gain. No matter how bad the present government will be, Gowon will still support the government because of his own interest.

He supervised a genocidal war against his Christian brethren down south. Now the pay back time from karma is upon his people. He was a willing tool in the hands of those in power and he never stops going to beg for alms from them.

He will never speak against the atrocious murder of his people for fear of being denied the alms that he seeks .
Some of you will just open mouth gboaa....an ex president begging for alms grin
Like anyone so far in your entire generation matters like he does.

Imagine if it was another person that was the head of state during the Civil war, someone like murtala or Adekunle or Buhari or Ibrahim Taiwo or Awolowo or Abacha

Gowon is a good man but was not perfect, I really thank God he was the head of state at that time.
Hmmmmnn. This is true. Moreover people don't understand head of states and presidents are not the real rulers, people who make decisions are watching from the shadows. Oil was just discovered as at that time in Nigeria and the only reason Nigeria held on to the east and south was because of selfish gains not national interest.

We're nothing but pencils in the hands of foreign exploiters.
