This thing you pointed out here made me lose interest in one church I rarely attend here in Abuja.. In a mixed church, they'll switch to mostly Igbo songs and the Igbos there will be rejoicing.
To sing Yoruba songs na war but they want other people to be singing in Igbo language. I think they do it deliberately to have a feeling of being superior to others.

It's more of disappointment than hatred.. If I'm to sing in Igbo language all the time I attend church service, then I expect Igbos in the church to dance to Yoruba songs as well so everybody will have sense of belonging there.

I can bet that you'd run away from a church where they sing mostly Hausa songs.. I guess you'll call it hate as well.

A wise minister will want to carry the congregation along, that should include at least allowing them to sing in their own language some of the time, make them feel at home in a church that is in their own land.

Ibo post war population in the north has never recovered after the pogroms instead Ibos trooped to the SW.
