is he going to give it the way COVID palliatives were given?

how does sharing palliatives improve peoples standard of living?

how does sharing palliatives solve the present economic issues?

what is the economic sense in removing fuel subsidy that kept price level down and then removing it and sharing palliatives?

*Sigh*

Palliatives are a short term effort to cushion the shock of economic distress among specific income categories. There is no country in the world that does not offer palliatives to distressed BOP people whether it is by way of food stamps, food banks or even soup kitchens. They are not in lieu of longer term economic programs - they are short term.

These types of solutions circulate cash among the BOP segments without increasing inflation because the size of the grants mean they will circulate at the BOP level which is fine for non inflationary growth.

The removal of subsidies provides fx savings which can be recycled into the economy. You can only do subsidies when you have money to pay for them. Nigeria does not have money and there was NO provision for it in either of the last two budgets. The amounts allocated to palliatives by state is a tiny fraction of their improved FAAC allocations. It is not a net off situation by any means.

The rest of your questions are rehashed versions of other questions.

Something brought us to this state, tokenism and palliatives won't solve the problem. Why not tackle or reverse whatever policies that are inimical to the masses.

Do not reduce us to beggars waiting on Govt palliatives to survive.
That is the goal. To keep the people dependent on food so that they can do your bidding and worship you.

My question is that, what will the remaining governor do with their 30 billion palliative money. This is a question you have to ask your governor be it hausa or igbo... Abi na only Ogun and lagos state collected the money? And why do they keep quiet since the Fed gov increased fed allocation since the removal of fuel supsidy. Please let's be realistic

STRONG ASSURANCE FROM THIS GOVERNMENT

Just yesterday, I have been at Abuja on the invitation of the President and some members of his team. It was resolved that ;

- with hope and strong resolve by the government and the people things will surely change *if only our people will be a bit patient with the government*
- the CBN Governor Mr Yemi Cardoso declared that with all that have been put into place dollar will surely crash naturally if only the black marketers are put in check.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE IN OGUN STATE

We are not only Gateway state by mouth, we have the best intelligent, resourceful and articulate brains in the country , therefore as your duely elected Governor we met with some stakeholders and came out with these just last week:

- All students in higher institutions across the country who are from Ogun State will be given fifty thousand naira each to cushion the effect of their increased tution fee

- all the primary and secondary school students in the state will be given ten thousand naira each

- all our primary and secondary school students will enjoy at least five exercise books

- all our elderly men and women to enjoy FREE HEALTH CARE from all our health institutions across the state

- all pregnant women to enjoy free health care and to be given five thousand naira after delivery

- having realized that the past governments and this present administration are owing Ogun State workers over #6billion of unpaid deductions we have therefore resolved that starting from this month of February, we shall be paying #500million to offset this deduction owed our civil servants

- our government have been paying ten thousand naira to cushion the effect of transportation cost of our civil servants in the last 8 months, this government will continue with this

- From tomorrow Thursday, 100 trailer loads of rice will arrive the state some of which will be given freely to the aged while the rest will be sold at a controlled price of how much a bag of rice was been sold before the soaring prices of food item started

- we are launching electric okada and tricycles to reduce transport fare by 30-40%

MY PLEA TO YOU AS MY PEOPLE

Let us be tolerant and patient with this government. Let us not join any group of those who are hellbent at destroying this administration. We can't pretend as a government that all is well, we are aware of the hardship but we should not be an agent of sabotage to thwart and tarnish this administration's image and effort .

Good one here.

My question is, where is the fund coming from.
Is it not from the N30B the Senate president Akpabio said was given to the governors to be used as palliatives for each state, and they denied it.
Why deny it in the first place.
Were they not planning to use it for the intended purpose before?

Certainly, our governors are also part of the evil bedeviling our nation.
The bank MDs are another.
Infact the political elites are the architects of the rot that has befallen this nation.

This country needs a total overhaul.
Rebirthing is sancrosant.

The change we desire starts with you and I.

Palliative?
But you don't yet understand that one Nigeria is a huge stumbling block for improvement of the humanity in your Yoruba land?

You can't understand why after the fall of the Berlin Wall, European politicians tactfully supervised the dissolution of nearly all the multi cultural and multi ethnic countries that once existed in Europe. They dissolved those countries because they got to understand that the centrifugal forces on the countries from the diverse groups would never allow them thrive.
Nigeria's politicians harness crude oil proceeds, share most of the proceeds among themselves, but make the masses in their respective regions wallow in poverty, and now in starvation. Look at Venezuela. Continue with palliative. Next twenty years, palliatives will be shared.

Kudos to fresh fm Lagos oseluntoday programme from 7 a.m to 9 a.m where Dapo Abiodin the Ogun state governor was exposed and condemned for not doing the right thing to his people.

This is not for Igbo in the house to comment because they are far behind as unknown gunmen are in charge of their territory

Giveaways will not solve the economic challenges ravaging the federal and state governments. Without a thoughtful and strategic approach to resolve the economic crisis, these Giveaways will actually cause inflation to increase. The $1200 Covid giveaways in US increased inflation in the US significantly.
