The reason is that we have a lot of uninformed voters who were groomed by wicked politicians.
It's better everyone goes their seperate way. The north are more closer to northern neighbouring countries than a fellow southern country man.
They allows oppose anything south, except it's either a Muslim Muslim ticket or one of their own is involved.

Goggle his name you will know him well is at 39 during 2023 general election and he contested the Presidential position but Nigerians where divided along ethnicity and religious line that is why Tinubu, Atiku, Obi and kwankwaso are the only ones that was heard.

If Nigerians truly wants progress then they have to keep regionalism, tribalism and religious aside and vote for young people whose age ranges between 20+and less than 45 with the country in heart.
