Did anybody here really follow the Eedris, Eddy and Tony Tetuila matter as per their recent podcast cameo?

Over the weekend I watched the full version of Eedris podcast session with dem Nedu & the gang , I watched Eddy's interview with Freeze(In reaction to Eedris podcast session) and Freeze's interview with Tony Tetuila. All I can say is Omo!

Eedris gave a version of the formation of The Remedies that goes thus; Eedris had been doing music in the north before coming to Lagos. He was squating in Lagos and was hustling to make music and along the line he met Eddy. They made music together, one thing led to another they met Keke Ogungbe who was already on raypower, he gave them airtime and the song blew.

They made money and Keke asked them for the name they will call themselves and he mentioned how he was called Remedy in the north. So Keke asked if he can call them The Remedies and they agreed. Somehow they met Tony Tetuila whose mum was rich and the mum gave them 60k which they used for music promotion and all.

After listening to Eddy's intevrview giving his side of the story and debunking allegations Eedris made about Eddy being the greedy one who wanted Tony out cos he (Eddy ) felt Eedris and Eddy are the one's doing the work while Tony was not really talented; I believe Eedris was the snake in the group.

From Eddy's account of the events, it appears Eedris met with Tony's mum and collected money from her with the intention to carry her son along. Eedris did this without ever informing Eddy about it. He just smuggled Tony into the group knowing he had limited talent. Eedris was playing middle man in the game. Eedris was the one that advised Tony to start writing his songs by himself cos he felt Eddy would soon push Tony out .

Eedris advised Tony to move close to Plantashun boiz and that was what made Tony feature them in his first single "Omode Meta " in which he dissed Eedris and Eddy. Immediately, Same Eedris advised Eddy for them to respond and this led to them releasing "Jealousy" in response.

Eddy claimed he never even knew or met Tony until the day they (himself and Eedris) were to reocord their first single and Eedris came to the venue with one boy limping behind him( i.e Tony) .

Eddy happens to be the one that was 4cked the most in the group at the end of the day. Omo I felt for him watching the video. Niggga completely broke down and was sobbing in the video. He was 4cked by even his own wife who was the vice president of Kennis music as at that time. I think he made a costly mistake marrying Kenny St. Brown. While he was trying to leave Kennis music; his wife was an executive on Kennis Music. The same wife was having dinner with Eedris his partner. The story long. By the time his marriage was over, Eddy was well over 4cked.

Tony is what we call "omo oni mama" on the streets. His parents were comfortable; at the time the group was on; his Mercedes benz was he first car they used to commute as a group. At a time there was no mobile phone, he had a cellular phone. These things made him prey to Eedris who really everyone around him. Tony listened to Eedris' advise of writing his own songs himself and was able to make commercial success after the group split.

There's a lot to unpack in those 3 interviews , but one thing that stick out for me is that Eedris is not who he's actually portraying himself to be to the younger generation. The whole videos and narration will give u nostalgia sha if remember the Nigerian music industry in the late 90's/early 2000's
From Omololu's interview, he was the one that connected Eedris to Eddy to help with the singing part of the song which puts a dent on Eddy's story.

I think from all accounts, Eedris was the person that brought them together because he was smarter (Everything points to it) and his smartness was also the undoing of the group because he did not inform Eddy of the money from Tony's mum...

They're all grown men and like many others in that time, they did not understand the business behind music so, they made mistakes...

I wouldn't even blame any oldie from walking away from music. It was too hard to make it

These days, only streams can give you a luxurious life.

Those days, your life was dependent on what music marketers like Obaino, Ossy and Ahbu ventures go pay.

Now, you can sing one song and be made. I doubt if Tekno has an album sef.

Back then, you need to have an album before marketers can take you seriously.

I no blame them at all. They all suffered
Imagine Shallipopi and Odumodublvck trying to blow in that era 😊

Tony called out some of Eedris lies . Almost everybody concerned thinks Eedris is a dishonest and dubious person .

Some of the things he did was not smartness

If u noticed Eedris was carefully skipping the parts about those monies . For example despite Eddy calling out Eedris for not helping him when he was down, he still mentioned that he gave him N5k about twice .

Eedris what he was doing on that podcast . He set out to portray himself as self made , the binding super glue holding the group together and all... He sold himself as the one who even put the idea of record label into Keke's mind following the birth of Remedies , etc.

What he failed to consider was the possibility of Tony and Eddy coming out to say their own side of the story .

In a way I felt pity for Eedris in the podcast for what he's been thru after leaving limelight especially when he mentioned how his wife came thru for him during the kidney transplant surgery; but Eedris na still snake amongst his brothers

SAD NEWS - A REMINDER!

On Civil Service Reforms and Cutting the Cost of Governance

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has directed the implementation of the 2012 Oronsaye Report, which proposes reforms to the Civil Service and aims to reduce the cost of governance. The report recommends the scrapping, modification, and subsuming of some agencies, commissions, and departments, as well as moving some entities from one ministry to another to improve their operations.

To ensure the swift implementation of the proposed changes, a committee has been set up with the mandate to implement the mergers, scrappings, and relocations within 12 weeks.

The Oronsaye Report contains several recommendations on Federal Government parastatals, commissions, and agencies, both statutory and non-statutory.

The immediate-past Admin produced a 2022 'White Paper' on the Oronsaye Report—to account for the changes that had taken place between 2012 when the original report was submitted, and 2021. The White Paper was concluded and submitted in late 2022, but not implemented before the end of tenure in May 2023.

Now, President Tinubu has, at today's FEC, directed the implementation of the Report.

According to a statement signed by Onanuga, below are SOME of the changes to expect (list not exhaustive):

—National Salaries, Income and wages Commission to be subsumed under Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission. The National Assembly will need to amend the constitution as RMAFC was established by the constitution.

—ICRC and BPE will be merged into a "Public Enterprises and Infrastructural Concession Commission."

—National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will absorb the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).

—PTAD will be scrapped and its functions transferred to the Federal Ministry of Finance.

—NEMA and NCFRMI will merge to become "National Emergency and Refugee Management Commission."

—Border Communities Development Agency to become a department under National Boundary Commission.

—NACA and NCDC will merge.

—SERVICOM will become a department under the Bureau for Public Service Reform (BPSR).

—Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) will become an agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

—The National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) and the National Gallery of Art (NGA) to merge into a single entity to be known as the "National Commission for Museums, Monuments and Gallery of Art."

—The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and Voice of Nigeria (VON) will merge into one entity to be known as the "Federal Broadcasting Corporation of Nigeria."

—The National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) and the National Centre for Genetic Resources and Biotechnology will merge into the "National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA)."

—The Nigerian Natural Medicine Development Agency and the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD) will merge.

—The National Theatre will merge with the National Troupe.

Btw he was favorite in the group but when they dissolved he was irrelevant

Faze had a good run when Plantashun Boiz split; from 2004 to 2007 to 2009.

Brother? Tattoo Girls? Originality? Which? All nationwide bangers. Chibuzor was too good.

Till date the only Nigerian male artistes who can sing the highest notes are in this order:

1. Wande Coal
2. Faze
3. Chuddy K

No Nigerian male artiste can lace their boots when it comes to unfiltered notes.

If Faze had come up post-2007 with the backing of a good record label, he'd still be in the game till date.

Black dey sing o. No play.

Dancehall, Reggae, Rap, vocals. He dey.

Blackface's biggest song post-split was a remix of P-Square's "Do Me' called " Erimma".

Before that, it was some ragga-styled song called "Hard Life" in the category of the Marvelous Benjis. His music was Ajegunle-themed. Ghetto-themed.

Faze had his music on MTV Base, Nigezee, and the likes, and did shows outside the country.. He was bigger and more successful post-split. Only paled when compared to 2Face the colossus. But then 2Face was bigger than everyone.

Tony! I'm trying to remember the title of the song he did where Princess was a Mama Put owner and had video vixens in yellow t-shirts and blue trousers dancing in a line. He wasn't touching any of them. I don't know if you can remember the title.

That music video caused trouble. Turns out my class teacher's first daughter was the lead video vixen in the music video and she got suspended from church for it. It was forbidden to wear trousers then in our church. Crazy times. cheesy
