Britishpea: Even if you peg it at $1300, the problem here is scarcity. One politician can wipe off $200M and stash it somewhere then another round of scarcity begins. There's enough $$ in the country but all hoarded by corrupt politicians, the Govt will keep pumping it more and it will keep disappearing over a short time. |

Paraman: “If you are not aware, kindly note that the CBN last week sold over $200m to the banks below N1,500/dollar" "Below N1,500/dollar" is what amount exactly? if the CBN is interested in the price of dollar to crash, why didnt it sell at N100 per dollar and put a ceiling of N150 for the banks? is it not obvious that the CBN is responsible for the high cost of dollars in Nigeria? if CBN is supplying dollars and setting its price, how then is the price being determined by market forces? 1 Like |

The rogue banks would soon start doing whatever they like with it. Cardoso had better start operating strictly like the strict Jamb registrar Oloye if he wants a huge improvement. He needs to regulate the banks and ensure it goes digital. All the Nigerian banks must have their dollar accounts with CBN so the CBN can be aware of any interaction with useless rogue politicians and useless speculators or the CBN should stop giving dollars to the rogue banks altogether. Also, Crypto which includes binance are no different from speculators, BDC and money launderers. They must be registered as money service company and regulated or banned totally. 1 Like |

I am just laughing in Xhosa... When a man is drowning he will even grope at a fly. All these last minute efforts will not stop the USD to equal 2000NGN in a short while. So CBN pumps in 300million usd all of a sudden, will it suddenly boost exports and reduce imports? Can they even sustain the supply? Nawnsense... 2 Likes |
