The Lagos State Police Command has taken swift action against a woman caught on camera assaulting a police officer in Ajah on February 21, 2024. Omorogbe Jennifer Soni, a 26-year-old woman, was charged with serious assault following a heated argument with the officer.

The altercation took a physical turn when Omorogbe attempted to reach her car, pushing the female officer forcefully to the ground. This disturbing incident was captured on camera, leading to her arrest by the police.

According to a statement from SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, Omorogbe was promptly arraigned the day after the incident, on February 22, 2024, at the Etiosa Magistrate Court in Ajah. The court ordered her remand at the Kirikiri Female Correctional Centre until her next hearing on March 27, 2024.

In his statement, Hundeyin reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to uphold the law and ensure the safety of all residents. He urged Lagosians to remain law-abiding in their daily interactions, warning that anyone found guilty of similar offenses would face the full consequences of the law.

An average Nigerian is lawless and uncivilised. That's why Nigeria has bad leaders. These bad Nigerians are the ones that abuse power when they become public servants. Imagine what this accused lady can do if she is a councillor, a governor or a senator. The same goes to the police and the judiciary. The lady's offense is a bailable one but she has been held for long. Unnecessary intimidation in almost everywhere and by almost every individual.

Heaven knows what the NPF and the society would have done if the accused is a male, especially for the fact that the assaulted officer is a female.

But the officer is a proof that the NPF is filled with incompetent individuals. Falling just like that when pushed by a fellow woman? How strong is she to secure her duty post? A competent security officer should be always prepared, especially when arguing with a civilian.
