The $800M Geometric Power Plant was finally commissioned on Monday the 26th February 2024. The company has already started the distribution of power to residents in the Aba mega city, comprising 9 local government areas: Aba north Aba south Obingwa Osisioma Ukwa east Ukwa west Isiala ngwa north Isiala ngwa south UGWUNAGBO local government areas. Aba Geometric Power Integrated Company has become the first electricity company in Nigeria to generate and distribute power on their own through gas. Aba as it stands has been separated from the national grid. The company has laid a pipeline to distribute gas from Owaza to their station in Osisioma. Now Aba is enjoying 24/7 electricity. Good news from the SE. When you elect good leaders, the people will enjoy the dividends of sound leadership as they are doing under Gov. Otti. Just within 8 months of handling the affairs of Abia state, he has facelifted Aba with good motorable roads and now this electricity project. Below are pictures of how well lit up Aba is right now.
