This is the mistake you people are making. The cost of that stuff is like #1 to them over there. Converting 1 pound to Naira to get over a thousand plus is not the making of the Europeans rather, it's just unsatisfactory value our currency commands.

Their economy is better. Don't try to compare it like that cos they earn better with welfare and good health care.

Why do we always confuse cheap with affordability? Nigerians are not saying things should be cheap, what they want is for it to be affordable. Pay them the same as people in the UK and see if they will not willingly pay #2,000 for fufu.

The average minimum wage is £10.42 in the UK. A man who works for 8 hours a day will earn £83.36. With this money, he can afford to buy 83 wraps of fufu.

The minimum wage in Nigeria is #30,000 and many people still earn #18,000. If you divide the #30,000 by 25 work days, you would have #1,200 which means a Nigerian earns #1200 per day. With this amount, he can only afford 12 wraps of fufu.

Do you prefer an expensive fufu that you can easily afford to buy 83 pieces of it or a cheap fufu that you can only afford 12 of it?
