My Redmi 10C has screen fault, so I decided to buy a second-hand phone. While trying to register my whatsapp on the new phone, it keeps telling me that I need an official Whatsapp, whereas I am using an official Whatsapp. It works with another SIM card but refused to work on my permanent whatsapp line.

I've sent them mail but they gave me automated response. I've reinstalled, but still not working.

What could be the problem and how do I solve?

It's because you have either GBWhatsApp, FMWhatsApp, WhatsApp Plus, OGWhatsApp, YoWhatsApp, or others installed and used.

Yes, it's for people that have changed their devices. I'm looking for a way to repair the other one so that I can deactivate it

my oppo screen got damaged, don't have funds to fix it so my sister gave me her phone to use for the time being.
I wanted downloading Whatsapp to link my account to it but with this review of yours I guess I may come across similar issues.
But what if that phone was stolen nkor?

Till you encounter this you will understand what I'm talking about. Go to Twitter, people are complaining about it.

Mine is working cus I've repaired the phone and deactivated the whatsapp account from the old phone and use on this new phone

my brother I had the same issue and this was how i fixed it. When I put my number in WhatsApp it was saying I should use official WhatsApp but to my greatest surprise it worked on WhatsApp business. I was using the WhatsApp business till earlier this year. I went back to WhatsApp to try again and it asked if I am sure I want to switch to WhatsApp as I’m already using this number on WhatsApp business and I said yes. So i switched to WhatsApp and ever since it’s been working fine.

State the steps to fix it, as I've not been able to use WhatsApp since like more than 5 months now, as a result of TO DOWNLOAD FROM THE OFFICIAL APP, issue.

The first question is, do you still have access to your former phone? If yes, delete your account from that phone, the new one will work. But make sure you back up your data
