It's better not to have a coach than to appoint Eguavoen as interim coach.........This is backwardness!

Eguavoen coaching Super Eagles in 2024, don't be surprised if they fail to qualify for next year afcon not to talk of world cup.

One step forward, ten steps backward...

Now i believe that NFF IS CURSED!

We knew Pesiero's contract was expiring. Regardless of whatever, we should have had a substantive coaching option if we weren't going to retain Pesiero...

Back to square 1 again. NFF have never learnt their lesson. Very stupid federation. Just because they want to save a little amount of hiring a good manager they decide to settle for less. I am very disappointed. We will never move forward if we continue to look into local coaches.
The last 2 best coaches we have, Paseiro and Ghernot Rhor are far better than Eguavoen plus Oliseh plus siasia combined.
Going for any of this 3 local coaches is pre-planned failure. And foolishly NFF went for it angry

No, Eguavoen has failed before! The last time out after they sacked Gernot Rohr, he failed to qualify Nigeria for the World Cup. They want to play out the same scene again
They should have appointed Amunike. Amunike proved himself as a player, playing for Zamalek, Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona. He also proved himself as a coach when he took Osimhen, Chukwueze & Co to win the U17 World Cup, and then took lowly Tanzania to the Nations Cup.
Both as player and coach, Amunike stands above Eguavoen

NFF knew Amunike is a no nonsense man like Oliseh. He won't give shishi as a kick-back to any official.

This looks demeaning.

This reminds me of my first job after graduation.

All my colleagues were master degree holder with 8-15 years experience in that field (though they were all thieves. Like 98% of Nigerians).

My former manager (an Indian man) has ND equivalent. He was paid in dollars ($2000 then). He's entitled to vacation to anywhere once a year with his family.

Meanwhile, my colleagues salary were ₦40,000-₦50,000.

After the Indian man left, they brought a fresh graduate (like myself) from India. He came as a management trainee (like myself), yet he was the Manager.

You can never be the best for the job in the eyes of Nigerians.

Big man,

The bolded is the reason why they were not hired

Would you hire a thief to manage your company?

They should make him permanent coach. We don't value our own thing here. All these foreign stuff is scam. There are local players that can do better than all these so called international players so that no access to media. Who can know that nwabali is a good homebased goal keeper

Bro it's not just to appoint any how local coaches, but to take the best out of our local coaches. Amunike can do the job if they give him free hand to work........Eguavon has failed over and over again, he is not even worth to be near anything naija football again. He is supposed to be in Europe adding to his knowledge on how to be a good coach

Is this not the same egusvoen after Gehnor Rohr was sacked and Eguavoen appointed and Eguavoen did badly in 2021 African nations cup where Nigeria was beaten by Tunisia in the 2nd round of 2021 nations cup ..and also Eguavoen could not qualify Nigeria for the Qatar 2022 world cup

Tribalism don set in.
Because you are igbo, Amunike has suddenly become better than Eguavoen
As old as your tribalist head is so you didn't see the point raised right? How long will the NFF continue to take us for a ride. Name the indigenous Nigerian coach that is currently better than Emmanuel Amuneke? If I was Amuneke, I'll tell the NFF to shove the job under their ass and go coach other organized African countries. His CV is too rated to be waiting on the corrupt NFF.

Has Sunday Oliseh not coached the Super Eagles before? How did it end. Both Oliseh and Eguavoen have failed as Super Eagles coaches. Emmanuel Amuneke is yet to lead as Head Coach.

A prophet is never acknowledged or appreciated in his home town. Not sure if I got that saying correct.

…but our local coaches, ex footballers and managers need to work on themselves. There are opportunities to that in Nigeria. Take a Nigerian football club side, conquer Africa, play in FIFA World club tournament, show yourself and what you can do.

They shouldn’t be waiting on the NFF to get appointment to manage a national side.

They should enrich their CVs by also getting jobs outside of Africa.
