dre11:If Nigeria was wise it would project it's money into building infrastructure for natural resources first which would raise the standards of living and bring in better foreign exchange then see where that leads to instead of budgeting money for projects like the 4th mainland bridges and the rest which would end up bringing unnecessary fossil fuels burning and more traffic gridlock. There are abundant natural resources in Nigeria which we all know would never dry up ranging from petroleum, natural gas, aluminum, tin, iron ore, coal, limestone, lead, zinc and arable land for agriculture. Nigeria need smart cities and buildings not just economic buildings. Congrats to Dangote groups for their achievements and feats. |

fawaz050:Actually you have a very good advice about NNPC advicing dangote to import from Russia. But the west is fighting Russia now through various sanction because of Ukraine war and if dangote or Nigeria try to do anything with them. The US government and the west would reck us with sanction. Our own would even be worst more than Venezuela because we don't produce anything😂 |

lexy2014:Simply because Nigerias crude has been pre-sold for some years. Some long term customers have pre-bought our crude for some time to come and will expose Nigeria to litigation if we default, so Dangote will only get from Nigeria under two options. 1. Nigeria substantially increases its production capacity which cannot be done overnight. 2. Dangote waits until nnpc,'s contract with some of those customers expires and he takes their place. So, for now Dangote being a private business has no option but to source for crude elsewhere. Either way, these are positives and not negatives for us because it simply means there is more demand for our oil which will spur govt to work towards increasing production capacity. Frankly speaking, I think we need to understand how things work before criticising govt, no bi everything we go just dey criticise for criticism sake on international forums like Nairaland. It speaks to our exposure and awareness of issues. If you are going to attack govt have your solid points, and there are many. |

VanuatuWycombe:Really, I am afraid for us. Are these the youth that wants to take over from older generations? No critical thinking, no research, no investigation of issues, no fact-based arguments but beer-palour debates. As we speak American youths are doing their research to counter older hypothesis but ours are here making surface-level arguments. |

looseweight:With 1.5 million barrels per day, Nigeria can not meet up with the supply need of Dangote and port Harcourt refineries for now. Also crude oil varies. Refineries ordered crude oil based on the refined oil they want to produce to maximize profits Some crude oil are very good for diesel production but may cost more if they are used to produce Petrol |

Nigeria is govern by very Dark wickedness how will Nigeria be importing crude oil when dangote build a private refinery, you will be surprised the foreign refineries belongs to our politicians, I've never seen such a greedy government that hate his citizens so much, the heart of the leaders don't have space for change so Nigeria can only get worst , stop blaming white when they call us black monkey they know much secret about our leaders than we do, I'm our ancestors will be sharing tears 😭 in the world beyond.when the enemy is from the household the solution is almost not possible, Binance and any foreign organization is not Nigeria problem,we are the problem. Change will come when we all need it and face the truth, the dead should not be scared of death you see we are not living here .every one is caged in terror. Thank God He's alive for us . |

imam07:Your last question is what still bothers me... Are they telling us Dangote didn't know that we don't have crude oil to give him when he wanted to start building? As in, with all his connections to people in power, he didn't know there's no crude oil for him? Before Dangote refinery, government always said the problem was that we didn't have a functional refinery... Now that we have a functional refinery, government is saying there's no crude oil Something just doesn't feel right |
