Nigeria should be embarrassed that we can't have 12 hours of power daily. Forget 24 hours cos it can never happen. But at least half of that. Giant of Africa in what? Online banter?

Ikeja Disco should have been invited! They are not better than the others, if not worse.
They would bring high estimated billings for power not consumed and follow it up with ladder to disconnect homes.
The power minister is the laziest minister in this regime.

$120m out of $1.3B 😂

Since the turn of this year, we've been suffering here in Gbagada, where we enjoy at least 20hrs of light per day before. cry

Hi Damlesky, I'm in need of apartment around sawmill or ifako-gbagada side. Preferably looking out for a shared 2-bedroom flat (that will be shared with someone else)
Or self-con( me alone).

Kindly help if you have information on any.

At this point, Govt should offer subsidy...slash solar installation by half with select companies...even if it's 1,000,000 household that benefit from this and you spend N200billion - N250billion...we will see the effect and there would be pockets of lights everywhere...do that annually and we can at least begin to be hopeful. My Mom uses solar...less than N300k and that meets all her needs. Occassionally she will use generator for the deep freezer. Over time people will also learn to conserve electricity when using solar more...

They finally gave us light o. Saturday morning after being in darkness for 2days. The light itself lasted for about 1:45mins and that was all for Saturday.
Brought light again around 4am on Sunday, took the light around 9am, and we are so sure it will be till Monday.

The irony is that this useless IBEDC people went around on that Saturday morning to disconnect even though the light came and lasted for just 1hr plus after 2days of darkness.

Now,we have made a resolve, anytime they come for disconnection again, we'll beat the he'll out of them. THEY ARE NO LONGER 'GOVERNMENT PICKIN'. The Discos are now private entities.

The transformers, the poles, the wires were all bought by us, everything even when it was still PHCN. So they have no authority over them.

After beating them and inflicting enough injuries on them, we'll go and beg them after like 2weeks, but the fact is that we have beating them. That will put some sense into their useless head.

In addition to begging them, you guys would probably spend some time in Police detention.

Why did Raji Fashola who was minister for Power not resolve these problems during his tenure of 8 donkey years; after all, these departments to ease generation and distribution of electricity were put in place before Fashola became Power minister?
Anyway, putting round pegs in square holes to compensate party loyalists and thieves who rig election, is APC stuff

We told them not to sell national assets to their cronies at give away prices but they said privatisation would help improve power supply in the country. But since the privatisation, na tariff increase and power supply decrease.

It's so so terrible since February and March is not showing any improvement... Uncle Bola should pay $700million of the debt owed gas companies, how can you pay $120 million out of $1.3 billion..and someone in Sahara yesterday open his mouth and saying people bypass power ..why won't they, when you want to bill them for darkness ... instead of providing prepaid meter , however cheap..

It actually started around first week of January here. Adelabu is one useless minister, who should not near anywhere close to leadership role. Imagine this minister kept mute despite public outcrying for more than 2 months, only to be ready now to call one useless unproductive meeting.

The other time, he was lamenting people are not paying, why would you expect them to pay for what they don't use? Provide 24 hours uninterrupted power supply and see if Nigerians would not be happy to pay their bills.

Mr President and his advisors, if you reading this, pls pay the debt once and for all, and cancel the subsidy once the debt is paid!

No more excuses from Gencos. Let Discos start charging market rate after all debt cleared. Discos will pay TCN and GENCos from their revenues. In the near future, once that market stands on its leg, government might even levy taxes on it!

Consumers are willing to pay more if the electricity is regular, steady and uninterrupted.

Also, let TCN have infrastructures able to transmit at least 25,000 MW in the 3 years with many redundancies and back ups. If saboteurs damage a cable, we should have infrastructures that can switch to back up cables while the damaged ones are being repaired.

Also, set up a task force with guns, drones, sensors, CCTV to protect our critical infrastructures. Some scapegoats need to be made out of the saboteurs.

If Gencos ramp up production once debt is paid, there will be no bottleneck from TCN.

No excuses!!!! Mr President, if power doesn’t improve to at least 20,000, what will you take to campaign in 2027?

Also, electricity is the biggest palliative for fuel subsidy removal, and not the N30,000 pittances you want to give to youth.

Electric vehicles will flood the market, including bikes in no time!! I trust Nigerians.

What is in the contract with the DisCos? What penalties for failing to do as in contract? I don't understand why the lamentations and excuses instead of taking action. Billing customers for services not provided is fraud.... no excuses or explanations. It's for the FG to call in the companies and have them either refund the customers .... or credit them. Government need to be out of the electricity or any business period.... but regulate them. Electricity supply and distribution should be localized.

How can the govt wield the big stick on the Gencos and discos when they can't even pay for gas supplied already? $120m out of $1.3b ? Who does that?

Nigeria is running into series of debts.. I don't blame those who say the country was formed for business purpose. The government is building gas pipeline to Europe and United States yet we can't use at least 7000MW of electricity

Most Nigerians are colonized in their minds. They are Europe and US worshippers.

It is economic sabotage,I knew that once dangote refinery starts refining, they will frustrate power supply.
If there is steady power supply, who will buy Dangote's PMS and diesel?
