About a month ago somewhere between Abia State and Imo State, 8 or 9 passenges, said to be members of a family, traveling in a Sienna rammed into a trailer loaded with building rods. All of them in the Sienna died. What caused the accident? A speeding convoy with covered number plates and tinted glasses pushed the Sienna into the trailer. Guess what! No vehicle in the convoy stopped or slowed down to check what happened.

The next craziest road users in Nigeria are those that escort bullion vans. They unnecessarily intimidate other road users.

That accident happened along Okigwe road in Imo State. Most of the policemen we have are thugs in uniform. Those escorting so called VIPs are the worst. They smashed my side mirror with a stick last year for not yielding at a bad spot along the Owerri - Port Harcourt road.

Convoys are as a result of a decayed society .If security was in place for all Nigerians I don't see the reason politicians ,government officials and private individuals will be moving around with armed convoy and constituting a nuisance on the road .

I have experienced their nasty behavior on the road several times and I know it's never palatable for the average citizen.

Jungle justice is never the way.

You refused to comment on the root cause of this tragic incident, but went straight to the reactions that came out of the actions of those killers in Uniform.

The way the Police, military and other paramilitary outfits drive on the road is tantamount to death threats from these lawbreakers who are still the enforcers of the law. The law holds enforcers even more than ordinary citizens but in Nigeria uniform officers don't give a hoot on what other road users feel as long as they can reach their destinations with their so called benefactors (politicians)

It's high time we look critically at route causes of events rather than just the consequences of that event, the policemen who were killed are no better than the civilians they killed.

A holistic investigation should be made, the injured policemen as well as the ex lawmaker should be prosecuted for murder or manslaughter as the case maybe depending on the prevailing evidence available to the prosecutor while those who where involved in the lynching should be arrested and prosecuted for murder.

It's high time our policemen behave civil and maintain law and order as it's supposed to be rather than be the number one lawbreaker in the land.
