How please? I do only long term and I chose MM due to no knowledge of capital preserved alternatives.

If you do long term, why don't you consider bonds, Sukuk bond offered 15%+
savings bond is also offering returns above 12%
the last FGN bond auction(though the minimum is quite high) offered 19%.

If you strategically invest in an equity fund when the price is low with a 5 years tenor in view, i can assure you that your return will surpass that of MMF.

That is why I said though they can give value also but you must be vigilant especially equity funds.
It's just like buying stocks directly. If you have the patient on the long run you can get value.

Like you said and I normally advice my clients if you are new in investment world, it's always better to start with MMF and fixed income funds. That is not to say balance or equity funds are bad investments.
The most important thing is to know your risk tolerance and stick to it and don't allow the euphoria of the market influence you so much as to ignore your risk tolerance no matter the gains a risky investment promise to give
Hello bro, please is it normal for my Stanbic MMF not to display my balance, since today, I can’t access it normally. Also in the web I’m seeing my balance but the returns is not there. This is was not how it was in the app the previous days. Please could you advise

Just be patient everything will normalize I guess it's end of month-related issues. No cause for alarm.

Check again later in the day. I'm sure you will be fine.

Why is the current rates not reflecting in MF returns, seems it's time to port to TB.

It's reflecting already and it will continue to do so positively with the current hike in MPR.
You can also read my earlier post on how an increase Tbills rate or MPR affects MMF.

Credit for the month of February has reflected in my Stanbic MMF account.

Stanbic MMF is now 12.84%.

I doubt MMF rates will ever equal TB or Bonds rates.

It is a tough decision to make between TBs and MMFs.

Paid every month. You can either choose the option of re-investing it or choose the option of it being paid to your nominated account.

Reinvestment of interest is done at the end of every month.
Payment of interest to customers' bank accounts is done at the end of every quarter.

Monthly reinvestment of interest started last year January but payment of interest for customers that opt for interest payment has always been end of every quarter.

It's right there as you login.
When you login through the web portal, click on fund at the top of the dashboard and the rates of different mutual funds will be displayed. If you are using the app, click on create an Instant account on the login screen and you will see the rates displayed.

If interest rate is 10%, you will get:

Daily Interest = (100,000 * 10 ) / (365 * 100) = 27.62

Then multiply that by number of days in the particular month to get the monthly Interest.
can you do this math in a layman way am not good in math if invest 2m how much is my return

Godspeed0:

@NL1960 has explained correctly.
Using 2m as the capital with current 14.67% for stanbic, this is what you get.

Interest for one year 14.67*2m/100
Which gives 293,400
Interest for one day will be 293,400/365
Which gives 803.8356
So for one month of 30 days you will get
803.8356*30 = 24,115.07

In the above, assumptions are:
Rate didn't change within the month and
there was no top up or redemption
