Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has successfully remodeled the long-dormant Minna Airport, which had been undergoing remodeling for over a decade by the federal government. The airport, closed due to the cut-off runway, has now been overhauled and transformed into the impressive Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna.

Upon assuming office, Governor Umaru Bago wasted no time seeking approval to take charge of the airport's project, which had languished for over 11 years. With swift approval, he immediately awarded the remodeling contract, leading to the completion of the runway and the construction of a new terminal within a remarkable 90 days.

Previously without a passenger terminal, the airport now boasts a fully furnished Domestic Terminal, aptly named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, scheduled for commissioning on March 11th, 2024.

Furthermore, construction of the long-abandoned Hajj Terminal has commenced and is expected to be operational within three months, reviving Hajj operations after a two-year break.

These monumental projects, executed in collaboration with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), underscore the commitment to national aviation standards. The construction of Cargo and International Terminals will be completed within 12 months, further strengthening the Airport's status as a transportation hub.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including an Instrumental Landing System (ILS) and Distance Measuring Equipment, Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna, will now be the alternative to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

This Airport is so important to Governor Umaru Bago’s agricultural revolution program in Niger State. With a functional Airport and a world-class agro-processing zone with an initial capacity of about 2,000 hectares of land where vegetables, fruits, dairy, and other livestock activities will take place, it will be easy to fly agricultural goods anywhere in the world.

Governor Umaru Bago's ambitious vision for Minna Airport is a great step towards improving the air transport sector and harnessing the economic potential of the state for national development.

We know that many places will be name and rename after Tinubu....

It doesn't make any sense to me... Especially when places and buildings were named after an incompetent Buhari.... Just to glorify the numbskull.....

After Tinubu leaves office, those places will be renamed after the next leader that will steal the people's mandate....

The future is in your hands, there has to be a clear vision, the well being of the people has to be part of that vision.

Farming tradition going international, corruption, political farmers and terrorists/bandits keep off, the presidency knows where subsidy should be going.

The name will be reversed back to the previous name or changed to a new name by the next governor.

Nigerians and foreigners must avoid that airport. imagine naming it after a failure. Land there at your own peril

The PDP government of Babangida Aliyu built this airport.

All these rubbish ass-licking, I am tired.

We need restructuring and devolution of powers for states to stand firm.

You refurbish an airport built by your predecessor and trade it for political favours.

Only in Nigeria ...

Before.

We wait for people to finish work before praising them.

What is wrong with us that we start praising someone who is still struggling to lift the hammer and start work.

Are we that jobless?

For the airport to be renamed after Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he must have contributed a lot to the project. No wonder BAT was very confident of becoming the president of Nigeria. He has done a lot of ground work.

It simply means the governor is looting and he's diverting attention from his looting.

By now one would have expected them to be showcasing their project after getting lots of money from subsidy removal.
