You are a big fool if you are satisfied with the fact that this govt is allowing him go on just plea bargain. If you can praise this govt for this and you feel this is fighting against corruption then your sense must have been used for ritual. Idiots. Someone ok the fp actually said this is good. |

wizelink: What exactly is good about this? A man stole billions and the matter is settled by simple plea-bargain. Meaning he stole, has made profits from the money and is asked to pay back what he stole and then go Scot-free. Why is good about that? 2 Likes |

BrighterSyde: Plea bargain means he won't pay the balance but that's not the situation here. Collect the deposit, free him a bit so he can sell what he can to pay the balance. |

At least he is been held and to some extent account for the fraud. If same level of treatment should be metted-out to other fraudulent politicians and non-politicians, then progress will be made even in it's smallest unit. As time goes on citizens will adjust and fraud won't be a norm anymore in Nigeria. It's a gradual process. BrighterSyde: |

wizelink: How has plea bargain stopped politicians from stealing? Which useless progress is being made or will be made? Even your senate president has a case with the efcc. After every tenure govs are hounded by the efcc. Look at betta edu. Look at the minister for interior. I can go on and on calling names. And this is the same plea bargain that they are allowed as a means of escape. Anyway you people are not ready. Rich men and politicians are stealing your common wealth and leaving you to suffer but you are ok with this rubbish they are doing and claiming it is small small. At this rate of pampering do you think you will see good roads and good power supply, access to healthcare etc in your lifetime? |

Details The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, will today, Thursday, October 5th, arraign popular businessman, Chief Cletus Ibeto before the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja over an alleged N4.8 billion fraud. https://leadership.ng/alleged-n48-8bn-fraud-efcc-to-arraign-bizman-ibeto-companies-today/ https://leadership.ng/court-orders-ibeto-to-refund-dozzy-oil-n3-2bn-over-failed-land-deal/ 1 Like |

donbrowser: That’s not even my point. What I’m saying is is this enough to deter others from stealing the common wealth of the people? A man stole billions. Obviously he spent it on maybe property and luxury and then he is caught. You allow him pay a bit and then go back to sell those things he spent the money on at maybe minimal loss and you are ok with that as punishment? Someone that should be jailed or killed for stealing what belongs to people. If not for corruption your life will be much better in this country but these men steal from you people and you applaud this plea bargain nonsese when their stealing has led to loss of life in so many ways. 2 Likes |

Mr cool down. We will surely get there. Our major problem to that effect is insincerity with ourselves and on the face of government policies. We always try to find short cut to every thing in Nigeria and that has caused great loss. If Nigeria can do away with ethnicity, bone-to-rule syndrome, religious and political affiliations and be sincere with themselves by doing things right and policies, the rich can't continue in their high horses. They succeed because you and I allowed their excesses but once few are used as example without any form of interference, then things gradually wiil get better. BrighterSyde: |

Capital punishment is needed to fight corruption and fraud in Nigeria. When all the senators are shot dead in front of a beach, the whole of Nigeria will understand we are ready. The western world will cry, but when we know we are the victims, we won't stop. See...fraudulent politicians and businessmen will all run away. Evil servants (not civil servants) will resign. Police will dump their guns and enter the bush to farm. Even bandits will think twice cos dem no wan die. |
