Chioma didn't ask anyone to boycott. Nigerians are the ones protesting. Plus, Chioma herself has the right to boycott any product she doesn't like. No law prohibits her from boycotting

Of course Chioma has the right to boycott. I'm worried about who (are the "Nigerians" calling on Nigerians to boycott a product. because Chioma is their social media comrade? I don't see the basis. It seems like social media cancellation strategy which aligns with ERISCOs complaints.
I'm just judging dispassionately
If I have issues with fellow citizen,regardless of my status, why can't I seek resolution in a civil way? why should social media be the judge?

I don't understand how a human being will support chioma and her sponsors to ruin a business that feeds thousands of people??

She should have channelled her complaits to the company costumer care or costumer protection agency like NAFDAC or other relevant agencies

You called the police, arrested her, sent her to lagos cell, the next day, transferred to Abuja cell..no charges yet.

Until the whole thing blew up to the attention of FCCPC, did she get release coz of their intervention.
That is not the civil way to handle negative product review.

The intimidation and harassment is the reason we're boycotting Erisco.

Hmm. You have a point. It's just a disturbing trend. In the west, they probably have more brutal reviews than I see in Nigeria. And in few cases companies take it up while in majority of cases companies quickly douse the situation...You read the subsequent cases in news.... BUT i have never seen let's boycott that product/company...

Hopefully, it gets resolved. There's a post David Hundeyin made on the case, comparing with Genevieve Nnaji and Amstel Malta saga. It made sense. I wish Erisco did same, all this unnecessary katakata would have been prevented .

Many are ment, but few are roaming here on nairaland. Especially that bernabeu guy.

Still from her lawyers...she was not served until and after the intervention for her release by FCCPC.
She was only recently served bout 2days ago...for an issue that has been on since early February.

When did Nigerian police start acting this fast...we that are in this country know how the police force are used.
They were not acting by their own order.
The case before them doesn't warrant all that process...another hand was doing the push. It is undisputed.

Now I'm just hearing that the tomatoes is closely linked with ketchup...which has high sugar also.
I've never known or thought Erisco to be in that class.

So perhaps truly, the sugar content is comparatively higher than others.

If NAFDAC claims that sugar kills, and she also says the sugar level in the tomatoes can kill, it's a comparison of sweetness of Erisco tomatoes to other tomatoes.

They can rightfully have high sugar content, and defend it- if it's the legal nafdac approved quantity.

My point...how can one product review be tantamount to a crime?

When we get disappointed, in the fit of anger, we drop our outburst on their review page.
It's our right to review the product we bought with our money.
If we feel the sugar is much, we should be able to talk about it.
She also lost value from her purchase. She should be free to make a review.

One negative review for a company that's been here for over 20yrs, they should have legit positive review from all their users.

The PR should have gone to interview market women, chefs and Co...to give review of their product use.
