President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dakorinama George, a former Commissioner of Work in Rivers State, as the Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency, BCDA.

Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

Tinubu urged George to put his experience into developing the agency.

George holds a PhD in Construction Management; an MSc in Quantity Surveying and Construction Engineering, and a B.Tech, in Quantity Surveying.

He is a fellow of the Certified Institute of Practising Professionals, USA; a fellow of the Association of Strategy Professionals, USA, and a member of other distinguished associations.

George is a former commissioner for works in Rivers State under the then governor of the state and current Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

There is something you don't know, supreme Court appointment is done on federal character, he doesn't have a choice. He can't fill them up with people from any other regions of the country. Every region has their quota same as appointing ministers

Where the federal character doesn't hold is heads of parastatals and departments, that's where you will know where the allegiance of the president is whether he is pro region or pro Nigeria.

You should have known all of these before hand

I guess they are also the reason your Governors are shit and your people flee your region daily.

Two of those appointments were to fill in the quota of the south east that has been vacant for over ten years while other regions enjoyed full quota. It's a balanced bench right now.

…Wike facilitated what? Isnt this a compensatory appointment for his role in fighting a sitting Governor and a fellow ijaw man? We would wait and see how it will pan out anyday we have a Kalabari Governor in this state. Afterall, the Kalabaris are doubled faced people though. Unlike other ijaw tribes in Rivers State.
