The Rivers State Police Command says it has arrested a 16-year-old boy who allegedly defiled his 11-year-old female schoolmate in the school premises at Rumukwurusi, on the outskirts of Port Harcourt last Friday.

It was gathered that, while the randy student carried out the act, his friends watched the scene as he pushed down the girl from behind and had his way inside the school premises.

Shortly after committing the act, the boy was said to have scaled the school fence to escape but was later held by the school authorities, while the girl was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

The report sparked outrage as photos of the schoolgirl bleeding profusely circulated online.

Meanwhile, the mother of the girl, while speaking to a radio station (Nigeria Info) in Port Harcourt, monitored by our correspondent, called on the school authorities and the state government to ensure the perpetrator is brought to book.

The distraught woman, said to be a widow, narrated that she got a distress call from the school to come over immediately, saying when she got there she saw her daughter bleeding profusely.

She said, “The school should provide the boy that did that thing and I want justice for my daughter. I’m a widow and I don’t have anybody. It is just me and my children. They should provide the boy. He should not go free at all because maybe he has been doing it to other people, but he will not go free this time. And I want people to help me.”

She further said her daughter lost so much blood from the incident.

“I got a call from the school that I should come because it was an emergency. I had to rush to the school. When I got there, I saw my daughter bleeding seriously. The bleeding was too much.

“I had to secure my daughter first by bringing her to the hospital while the boy was still in the school custody. They said they would hold the boy for me. The doctors have not said anything yet. They are just taking care of her at the moment, but the situation is still like that, no improvement and the money is expensive.”

The situation has provoked outrage on social media with many condemning the act and calling for the arrest and prosecution of the suspect.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident, saying the male student has been arrested, while investigation is ongoing.

Iringe-Koko said, “The boy has been arrested and the matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department. The outcome of our investigation would be made known subsequently.”

Let Nigerians wake up and stand with this woman to get justice. Hope she will not finally accept out of court settlement like most of them do. Justice will surely be served.

The level of moral decadence among our youths is something else these days.
Imagine teenage boys standing and watching as their friend defiles a minor!
The curse that would follow these Gen Z idiots is the one that no native doctor or pastor can break.

Posters above me have said it all. I pray the little girl gets justice and heal fast. This is very disturbing 😢 and can ruin the poor girl's life. Imagine the horror. That boy should be castrated and given death penalty. He lacks home training. I won't be surprised if his already into cultism.

This is Nigeria. They're both underage. Secondary school kids have sex all the time. This might have been a case of a consensual deflowering and as most of us know, kids don't think straight in high school. Most Nigerian parents will never agree to this and will most likely have the narrative become rape.

On the other hand, this could very well be a case of outright forced penetration. It just goes to show the level of depravity amongst the kids of today. There's no censorship for kids these days. All these genZ kids are growing up in a highly sexualized world and it seems everybody approves of it. Nobody is focusing on how it affects their mental space.
