That is how they queued to apply pressure on Bokku bread when it was sold 950. Bokku had to start selling on two breads to each person but they were not dettered. They will take all their children and extended to the queue just to sell the same bread 1200 at their shops.

Bokku were only trying to save their business from those scavengers by trying to deal directly with the actual consumers.

I don't even understand the hype about the booku bread sef .

One of their stores was recently opened close to me and I thought it to be a normal supermarkets where u can quickly get groceries . I entered only to discover a large queue of people waiting to pay for a single loaf of bread 🤦‍♂️

Like I wonder if they will be making much sales on other groceries cos almost everybody was there just to buy bread . I just vex commot there cos everywhere was just stuffy .

I feel it will make more sense if they have a pay point dedicated to those who just want to buy bread and another pay point for other shoppers sha cos it appears the only time u will shop in peace there is if they don't have bread .

And u think the lecturers in Ikere Ekiti who earn 200k have drivers they pay out of their 200k salary ?

I served in a Ubity school in the north and some level 16 officers who own cars no get driver . The only person that had driver was the principal who was a level 17 officer whose driver and domestic staff were being provided by the federal government .

In this present Naija , u can never pay a driver and maid out of 200k gross family income . Lai Lai !

Driver is a luxury most people won't use because they prefer to flex their car themselves but domestic staff plenty die, in those villages and towns families will even drop their kids with you for free as long as they get fed and educated just to live with you from church mosque and community. In those places paying 10k for housemaid is even considered wastage.

Drivers are only for retirees in those type of towns and it's not hard to get people who will do it in exchange for small money or even minor favors

You can have 4 domestic staff and not a driver because their job intrudes into Ogas personal life but if you absolutely have to get a driver you will get someone to drive you for cheap.

Shouldn’t there be a limit on how much bettors can wager in a day?

They are mostly uneducated and don't care about any economic theory you have to preach.

Which is why in thinking they are smart but in the long run they are also losing. Typical of the Nigerian cutting corners environment

In your example, The amount of time they take to sell at such exorbitant profits could still be equalized if they were selling in bits at the expected premiums

Plus they would not be losing the goodwill they currently are.

“The president gave a directive that he wants a single digit tax in the country, meaning that the maximum number of taxes we will have after the work of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms will be nine taxes.

'We want to grow the pie such that even if we are taking the same percentage of the bigger pie, the result will be huge. By God’s grace, we will not introduce additional taxes nor increase any form of taxes. We are only determined to increase the pie.”

Like I always say, part of Nigeria's major problem is lack of strong institutions.

Betting has to be absolutely regulated with stringent rules, otherwise it is would be abused by the betting companies and it's users. By the time regulations come, these early birds would have relegated and feasted on Nigerians.

Setting daily limit is very important, especially in a country like Nigeria.

Legacy ShopRite was selling 5alive at a price lower than retailers, to the point that retailers started buying from shoprite to resell. It got so bad they reduced the amount of 5alive taht could be bought by one customer.

Nigeria is a weird place.

Like I said, Information asymmetry really is the problem.

People really need to take matters into their own hands and force the retailers hand.

Maybe walk/drive into the pure water factory and buy a number of bags yourself. Start doing most grocery shopping at recognized malls.

Isnt it the same Nigeria where people queue at NNPC just for as little as a difference of N5 per liter?. The retailers cant be stupid enough to not adjust the moment they start feeling the impact in terms of patronage

Bokku bread is rubbish, it barely stays longer than a day, and it feels too sugary in the mouth. Their prices on general commodities are crazy though, like I wonder how they manage to sell their stuffs as cheaply as they do...their prices are on the average at least 10% cheaper than their closest competing price.

Actually, there are limits (amount varies) and the betting industry is heavily monitored/ regulated by the government. Outside of daily limits, Betting companies report unusual bets/ props and investigations are swift. Infact, there is a case being investigated currently that involves an NBA player. Also, sports betting is illegal in some States like Texas, California, Alaska and a few others.

Betting industry is also regulated by the National lottery regulatory commission in Nigeria .

And what I'm saying is that different betting companies have maximum amount u can win on their platforms; but no betting company will stop u from placing any amount u so desire. It is the odds u accumulate and the maximum Payout limit that will determine the maximum amount u can stake .

I went through the last 25 or so stakes that mrbanks posted on his telegram group on stake.com. He won only one which was 2 odds.

There's no way on earth that guys bets those things he posts and stays in profit. Contrary to popular belief here, one win will not wipe the losses he would have accumulated.

I don't think he has quite told us how he actually makes money. It's certainly not from the betslips he posts.

Which is different from what is obtainable here and something that can be mirrored in Nigeria. Betting companies set limits on how much you can wager on a prop and that invariably affects to a reasonable extent, how much you can cash out. How and why is anyone allowed to wager millions in Nigeria?

you are right. my default action is to track down and isolate the main warehouse. you will usually get the best deals and best variety there. one time, i needed eleganza plastic tables and no retailer had a matching set. i went to their website, got contacts of all their retailers. after having my time wasted - i went all the way to their warehouse in lekki ftz

I've not even tried the bread before cos I don't think I will go through the kind hassle people go through just to buy one loaf of bread .

I also noticed their prices for other items make much sense and I noticed their founder is kinda selling idea of not selling goods with polythyne bags like they do abroad . I guess it's to encourage people come with their bags and discourage polluting the environment with polythyne bags that don't decay

If that is what obtains over there , I doubt Naija will adopt it o. Naija bookies and the regulators all want to make money .

They will tell u that since they already put betting is for 18 and above , then it's assumed u are an adult and u know what u want to do with ur money .
