And some people will have been dismissed or denied it employment for this

Change is truly the only constant thing

I remember being in hostel in my younger years and the school owner/hostel master will not let us watch TV because his church (deeper life bible church) believes watching TV is a sin and a medium to foster sins

Many years later when I visited this same man house I see the man, his wife and children all glued to the TV watching cartoons, they even have DSTV subscription, as soon as cartoon is done wifey changed the station to zee world, we also watched arsenal vs Chelsea premiership match in the evening as I visited during the weekend

In my mind I was just swearing for the man, this is same man that nearly ruin our childhood by denying us access to TV even against wards' parents protest

Last last oga claimed pastor kumuyi said they can now watch TV shocked shocked shocked cool

This is a man that have masters as far back as 90s
you see our life's in the hand of our mog

US is not a country, is a whole continent, only a clown will compare a 9 million square km country with a 9 hundred thousand square kms Nigeria. If a country with 9 million sqkm has 300m people, so you Nigeria with 9 hundred thousand sqkm should be having 200m people? Look at a human brain? You don't call US, Canada, China countries, they are not anybody's mate. The state of Texas is same size with Nigeria and there are just 25milion people in it, haven't you heard this before?
I'm out of here

grin grin grin so it's now about geographical size. It's no more about population. Hahaha 🤣

Nigerian Armed Forces may follow suit as we have been copying and pasting the British in virtually all of spheres of life.

Officers and soldiers in North east keep beard while those serving in units do keep but on excuse shave and you must hold a copy of the publication everywhere you go while on uniform

Yes, and stop being a rude child and a poor advertisment for a Christian.

Grow up
Actually I tried to explain to you on your previous mention but I got distructed by the network provider

And I don't think I need to explain anything for you again but for knowledge sake
Let me do it.
Kumuyi called the TV then as a devil box because it is corrupting the mind of the simple through the immoral stuff that is being watch then and now

Now note
If pastor kumuyi still say don't watch TV because of the immoral stuff which it promote then
Isn't their phone for people to still collect the immoral stuff and still watch!

With the aid of the Internet we see that the TV (monitor) can be use in proclaiming and propagating the gospel message.

The big screen being use at gbagada and the TV (monitor) that is being use at every district church now is use in transmitting the gospel message and reaching people far and near.

Don't watch the immoral stuff that is being shown on TV
But rather watch gospel message through it
We don't watch TV for the sake of pleasure and sinful gratification but rather for the glory of the God

And the TV (monitor) now is being use in preaching the gospel

So please make sure you get your fact before saying something you don't know

and for what you posted that pastor kumuyi say on the YouTube
I don't know what is your goal or mission but I know it is not for the glory of God

Because if it was
You will not be targeting the Church of God or looking for fault where there is none just to suit you egolistic nature

You need to grow up and be a better Christian in joining to promote God's own church and for the preaching of the gospel.

You need to repent
Because every idle words shall be judge on the last day especially talking against church

I really hope you become a better Christian and stop looking for ways to defame a church just for pleasing ego.

You make the body of Christ rather say the church of God sick.
Repent

The problem is, you think I am attacking your hero, when I am essentially trying to explain why he changed his view, and doing it to even correct a person mocking a member of your church.

At the end, you missed the whole point, because it was too nuanced for you to get it. Once upon a time deeper life did not use tv, now they do. It is not hypocrisy on the church's part, it reflects the fact that television itself has changed to a point where one can control or even avoid sinful material. Which has proven good for many christians. This isn't the 1970's where you had one channel showing filth and good stuff mixed together, and where you sometimes could not avoid it... this is the era where tv has become divided into so many spaces as it where where you can avoid the filth that sometimes appears on the set. Thus change happens , because the TV Has changed to suit the preferences of its potential viewers.

But you missed it, because you thought I was attacking your church and calling you hypocrites.

That is why I was angry with you. You were rude and you behaved badly, and you are still being rude and behaving badly. Consider how you are behaving in light of scripture...that says our speech should always be seasoned with salt.

I may not be a member of Kumuyi's church, but I most certainly do not regard him as a hypocrite, just as someone who sees how things have changed and takes advantage of it for the gospel. If you cannot see that, sorry.

I am also sick and tired of the way you Nairalanders are so abusive and so annoying. If y'all cannot grow up and be more polite, then you are not fit for human society. Learn to be more polite and properly spoken.

And the gall of you to ask me to repent, when you came here to call my comment rubbish. Shouldun't you repent for using such intemperate language , old chap?

If you've ever been in the service before like you said, you'd know that you still require a medical certificate, an "excuse shave" before you can keep beards even in the NE..... It's not a publication, it's a medical certificate. Izza clear oga wannabe. Stop impersonating embarassed
Re: British Army Lifts Ban On Soldiers Growing Beards by crossbreedwears(m): 3:11pm On Mar 31
Not all soldiers in the NE have "Excuse Shave". In fact most of my coursemates keep bears because no one is checking anyone there! It's a battle ground and nobody get anybody time. They only time most of them shave is when GOC or Chief comes to check his men! Nobody is impersonating here and let me shock you i served in the medical corps befere leaving the job.
