Good morning gurus, ewizard1 dollarnaira and others.
Please I have a question in regards to this DIY lithium battery, I watched a video on YouTube whereby a 12v 60ah 3s BMW was used for a 1kw battery size.
My question now is, I thought battery sizes determines the required bms for it, e.g a 100ah battery requires a 100AH bms?

Battery size does not determine bms capacity, charge and discharge current determines it

Good evening house, to all the DIY gurus I duff cap for una, pls assist a very humble novice, I got 8 pieces of 19.2v lithium battery packs with 249.3wh capacity, can I use it to build a combined 24v battery system?

theoretically you can, what is the configuration of the cells and pictures would be great

You will have to disassemble the cells and rebuild it to use with a 24v system. The current battery configuration is 6s while you need a 8s system to work with 24v

Would be nice if you compress these batteries. They are polymer pouch cells and tend to swell as they cycle.

Short one...

Where did you buy your lithium cells?

Were they 18650 cylindrical li cells, if yes how did you solder each cell together? I can't seem to successfully solder two 18650 together in a firm connection using regular soldering iron and solder lead

Now that dollars don fall, how much?
Does it charge with solar panels? What ratings and how long does it take to fully charge?
How long can it power 32inches tv?
.
dollarnaira:
Mobile power
24ah lithium ion pack.
Plug and play

Powered 2 rechargeable fans at a good speed for 7 hours with juice still left.

Strictly for :

Regular LED tv
Energy Bulbs
All charging
Rechargeable fans
Laptops but not Alienware

Avoid:

Smart tv
Voltage regulator
Fluorescent bulbs
Regular fans ( coil based)

Price just 115k grin grin grin ( power of inflation)

Reconsidering keeping it for myself bro.
Too beautiful to release. Energy don cost again now.

I source for cells around my vicinity, yes they're 18650 cylindrical cells.
For the soldering aspect, I bought a soldering iron from aliexpress that heats up in seconds as I first encountered the challenges you're facing now, and the rest was history.
Happy build to you.

Please I would love to embark on this ASAP...

Thank you for the succinct answers.

I'd love to start building and would really appreciate your help on:

1. How to get the soldering iron you now currently use. The soldering aspect is a major challenge for me. I'm good with soldering onboard but this 18650 has proven to be a major challenge

2. Where to outsource quality cells at affordable prices

3. BMS for my built pack

I need a setup with 12v 200Ah batteries. How many cells will I need, and what other items will I need to acquire? I would appreciate it if someone could guide me through this process.

Do actually know what you are asking?
You need roughly 300 cells. If you haven't built just 3 cells in series before, run!!!

wouldn't advise that you play with li-ion cells unless you know what you are doing, it is also a labour intensive task to couple 300+ cells. This was the one I built about 3 years ago, 3s 250ah and 7s 120ah
