Don't mind him.

Attached herewith is an estimated billing for a 2 bedroom flat about 3 years ago in a Band C area.

Only God knows how much they will be paying now .

Now imagine how much Band A will be paying now that the tariff has been increased

This reason seems to be the new style to justify their incompetency; Nigerians cannot pay the true price of energy

But year in year out, we still have massive areas that are still on Estimated billing. Why not give them prepaid meters and see if they will pay or not?

Provide 24 hours electricity first, then let us see if Nigerians will pay or not.

Why una dey underrate Abacha like this? grin

1v1 nobody chop money reach Abacha but military government is inherently cheaper than civilian government due to the significantly smaller number of people certified to put hand in the national pot.

You obviously do not live in Nigeria, because you seem to be mixing everything up.

How can Estimated billing be cheaper that running Generator?

Estimated billing is you paying for no power, epileptic power, and even when you do not use it.

If they don't bring light for one month, you will pay the bill

If they bring light for 30 minutes in a month, you will pay the bill

Something that is more of a fraud, is cheaper than generator? How?

I'm telling you that in the ss, most of the houses don't use prepaid meters. Doesn't that mean they're using estimated billing? The billings the nepa officials bring are way cheaper than money used for running generator.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel: 1:58pm On Apr 05
And I don't know about where you live, but the nepa officials in the places I live respect themselves. What I mean is that any month that the power supply is extremely bad, they don't bother coming to ask for money.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by TemporaryHansel: 2:04pm On Apr 05
I have never used prepaid meter before. Estimated billings right from day one, but I'm telling you it's cheaper than when I buy fuel and you're arguing with me smh.

Now this explains ur stand on this whole issue, u guys have things easy over there.

Here in Lagos, if ur transformer gets faulty and NEPA take it away for repairs for let's say 6 months, for those 6 months u will get regular estimated billing which u are expected to pay. If u don't pay, when ur transformer is back and u want to start enjoying light they will come to disconnect ur light. U will be forced to pay the crazy bill in the long run or resort to bribing NEPA officials.

In fact let me tell u about the area where I grew up. Not far from our house , there's a building that has always been empty. I never saw the owners of that building until I was teen . My parents said before I was born the owners of that building travelled abroad but they kept the building with their properties in it intact without anybody living in the house

Despite knowing nobody lives in the house, NEPA kept on dumping estimated billing on them. Meanwhile, NEPA had long disconnected their light o. When those people came to Nigeria, they had to go to NEPA make a deal to pay a substantial part of the crazy estimated bill over the years before their light was reconnected. The family stayed for less than 6 months before they travelled back . Then NEPA continued their nonsense.

Well, we might live in the same Nigeria, but we surely don't live the same realities. What's seen as normal and practiced in state A can't be attempted in state B and vice versa.

Why can't the Discos start forcing the Prepaid meters on all their coverage areas?

.....Ikeja Electric tried it last year but our people didn't respond. They threatened to disconnect any house without meter but our people still find their ways around the threats.
