If only that Ajaokuta steel mills are located in Onitsha, na big industry that will be very profitable. That Ajaokuta is off from most major development hubs.

Any mineral resources dey Onitsha?

Ibo land contributes nothing to GDP.
No industry except markets where substandard Chinese products are sold.

First, the project was sited in Onitsha around Oweri Road which is the present Okpoko community but due to politics, it was transferred to Ajokuta. The establishment of the Nigerian Metrology Institute in Anambra State within the second Niger Bridge was the brainchild of the project

Do you have iron ore in Onitsha?

Do you have any mineral resources in any part of South east.?
No industry, you only have markets where fake Chinese products are sold

That land is barren

I read somewhere that Onitsha was one of the places recommended by the engineer..

But somehow the project was situated at Ajaokuta

That is a fake news being peddled by our delusional blodas.

Is there iron ore in Onitsha?
I don't even know any mineral resources they have in that region except coal, which has no value in the present day economy.

That was the original site and we support them with the Dam but they took all , Nigeria have done terrible things to the Igbo ppl

Is there iron ore in Onitsha?
Is there any mineral resources in South East at all?

Why do you think industries are avoiding that region like plague?
The land is not viable.

You might be the one peddling fake news.

There's no coal in Onitsha.

Even if there was, when Ajaokuta steel was instituted in Kogi state. Coal was a viable commodity at time.

I have actually seen the documents posted here on nairaland few months ago.. Onitsha was one of the places recommended by the engineer.

Ajaokuta is highly centralized in this country. You can access it from all parts of Nigeria. May be you don't know much about Nigeria's geography.
