I have done nursery last week, I just finished clearing the bush meant for my pepper. My target is 5k stand of local pepper, but if I couldn't get 5k stand, whatever I'm able to get will be enough

Imagine you have access to 100, 000 Congo of garri now.
Do the math

100,000 X 1k
100milion sharp

One plot of land should give you at least 1000 Congo of garri
Then you need just 100 plots of land to chalice that. That’s just about just 2-3hectres of land, which you can lease for just 1m or lesser self.

with that quantity of garri, you will be selling in bags as wholesale and not congo as you call it.

you will end up with 40 to 50 million at most.

you can’t retail that at 1k per congo all by yourself.

Good morning nairalnders, let’s do a challenge, plant pepper seed in sacks for your backyard and update us here with the growth for encouragement, I promise to start encouraging anyone that plants daily in my
Own way.

If 2m nairalnders and 5m Nigerian youth can do this challenge for just a week, in 3months we would be having abundance of pepper to eat and consume.

Stop complaining, do something, just plant in 50-100 to hundreds sacks at your backyard, wet every morning and move on with your normal daily life. Is that too much to hel ourselves?

Or to crown it all, hit the jackpot, which is cassava, just get one plot of land and plant casssva, that one is on 6month, piaaaaaam you fry am sharp, garri is 1100.

Am already working on 5plot of one wasted land for cassava like this. You know what? It will only cost me just 350k to finish the project till o harvest. No risk, no Tax, no looking for buyer. Just sell or fry am to garri.

Below is my one month planting progress for the pepper.

This only means I will have more than enough pepper and garri and kudi……ego!! En!!! to use this year.

Interesting. I like this challenge

This is a good encouragement but I won't advise anybody who wishes to venture into pepper farming to plant in sack. I am a pepper farmer and I have tried planting pepper in sack, the germination and growth was good but the problem started when the pepper started fruiting. I noticed the root of the plant have started perforating the sack, pepper is a perennial crops that takes atlest 3 - 4months before you start harvesting and extra 6-8 months before the plant gets weak of production, during that period of time the sack won't be enough to accommodate the whole root resulting to poor fruiting , the flowers will be falling off, the leaves will be shrinking some time the plant dies off

planting hot pepper in sacks does not work,we tried it with 500 sacks last year and discovered that,it will grow well initially but the moment it grow to big and you harvest like 4-5 times it will stop growing and stop production because the roots do not have anywhere to go again, but you can successful grow cucumbers, melon, okra or sweet pepper in sacks, the root system of hot pepper is too massive for the sack

Brief update

Pepper still growing on fine

Wow... This is really beautiful to behold. As someone who likes to watch things grow, I think I'll get started today.
I will prepare the nursery this evening. I don't have sacks tho. Hope a normal ridge bed will work?
Lastly, do I have to put manure before planting the pepper seeds?

You're over exaggerating. One plot of land can't give you 1000 congos of garri

And 100 plots of land is 5 hectares. Where person want get that? And it is not a joke of a project, it is a lots of work. We that were born into farming know better.
I will create a thread for my four plots of egusi farming tomorrow (plus about 100 seeds of watermelon that cost me N4500) when I take pictures to go along with it tomorrow morning before I leave home. Planted it about three weeks ago
