Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the sad demise of Nollywood actor, Junior Pope. The actor and his colleagues were coming back from a movie location in a boat when they fell into Anam River in Anambra state.

Their bodies have since been recovered.

Hours ago, the actor shared a video of himself taken yesterday in a boat and praying frantically to arrive at his destination safely. The accident unfortunately happened on his way back from the location today April 10th.

The actor is survived by his wife and three children. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

Allegedly consulting a herbalist instead of seeking hospital care.

Many Nigerians have be dead due to fact that ordinary Nigerian citizens can’t preform CPR and our police officers can’t even attend to common first aid.

Most Nigerians don’t have first aid kit at home and also most don’t even have fire extinguishers at home.

Someone fell also inside third mainland bridge yesterday, after their bus got into accident yet no rescue team to search for him/her.

Pope you Bleep up !! You do not know how to swim and you accepted to enter water without float jacket ? Why ? How can you be so careless ? Who will take care of your 3 little kids ?
The government MUST look into this and ensure that the producer faces the full wrought of law? If found guilty.

Like he was so carried away with the video that he lost control of the boat, I am very sure that was how the accident happened!!!

If that's the case, it was a matter of distraction and the actor is the culprit here. They might as well be under the influence of alcohol.

It was the bastard rider abi driver of this boat that caused this misphap ...the overzealous fool was so deeply immersed in the video and trying to show off even when he was warned by the actor,caused the unintended death of this actor and others .....safety precautions can never be found close to Nigerians bcus we always feel nothing dey happen ....now see.....a typical Nigerian will and can never take anything bordering of safety serious ......imagine oyinbo actor going on this without safety tools na lie.......we r just to carefree in this country.....

Really bad, life jackets is a must but most people ignore it I don't know why? When I insist sometimes they call me fear fear man, but is that not the right thing to do? Ok if no life jackets, what's the alternative? No answer than, God forbid bad things will not happen to us. Don't play God.

As an actor with many years experience, the trip is not sudden but already planned so I see no reason why each crew cannot buy life jacket for themselves. I am sure nobody got paid less than 20k for the production and with as low as 20k each can buy life jacket which they can reuse next time

Well said.......sometimes we r d problem of ourselves not everything is d govt but I think states should mandate use of life jacket for water transport....only lagos state is effective in that regard

My question is why are they not putting on life jacket, even if you can swim life jacket is very important when traveling by water... Nigerians are just too careless and we are never proactive until something bad happen..am very sad to hear of his demise and the others..rip to all the dead and may God grant their family the fortitude to bear such painful loss

RIP to him, but this guy was enlightened enough to know he should demand for a life jacket if he's to ride on a boat. Safety first, use a life jacket while on a boat or ferry, no matter how convincing the operator of the boat sounds, don't go on a boat ride without a life jacket if you're not a good swimmer
