Romans 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

The scriptures reveals that the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us who walk after the Spirit.

However, what does it mean to walk in the Spirit?

But first of all, scriptures reveals as many that are baptize into christ have put on christ.

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

This is not just about water baptism but what water baptism stand for. When we get baptized into christ we are declaring our faith in him, that we are now united with him. Water baptism is a symbolic declaration of faith in christ. There is verbal declaration of faith in christ and symbolic declaration of faith.
Being in the Spirit
When we believe on the Lord Jesus, our sins were forgiven us, we were declared righteous, the holy ghost took residence in us, we were regenerated in Spirit, we became new creation and we became sons of God, at our new state we are in the Spirit.

walking in the Spirit
In other for us not to fulfill the desires of the flesh we need to walk in the Spirit.

What then is walking in the Spirit?
It simply mean to live in accordance with our new state. Walking in the Spirit requires knowledge of our new Spiritual state /position.

When you buy a brand new car, the first thing you do is to read the manual to know about the car. As we learn about the Lord Jesus, we Begin to see our image in him that is because our identity (who we are) is in christ. So our focus should be on Jesus. The scripture reveals our new state and position in christ.

Under the law people struggle to keep the law in other to become righteous but in christ we already become righteous but however we need to live as people who are already righteous, holy, blames because christ has made us so in him. in other words we are not struggling to be righteous halleluyah, rather we are righteous but living out our righteousnesses and holiness in christ, when we are commanded to holy in christ it means to live as holy people because we are actually a holy nation in the Lord Jesus christ.

When we live according to what christ as made us to be in him instead by the dictate of our flesh or the world we walk in the Spirit and hence overcomes in christ Jesus. Shallom
