Kaduna: El-Rufai’s ally, Aisha Galadima released, accuses DSS of assault, harassment

Aisha Galadima, a political ally of former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who was arrested by the Department of State Services, DSS, has alleged that she was harassed and beaten while in custody.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain made the allegation after her release from the custody of the security agency.

Galadima was arrested in Kaduna over a post on her Facebook page criticizing the state governor, Uba Sani.


DAILY POST had reported that she was picked up and whisked away from her residence on Sunday afternoon.

The arrest was confirmed by one of her brothers who said, “Aisha has just been arrested by DSS at her Tudun Wada residence in Kaduna.”

Confirming her release, the APC chieftain said she was harassed and beaten by DSS operatives.


Addressing newsmen, Galadima said she was inside her room when four DSS operatives came to drag her out.

“I was inside my room about to take my bath when they came in and dragged me out. I saw four of their Hilux vehicles outside the gate. They pushed me inside and drove away,” she said.

According to her, the DSS accused her of making a post against Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, in February.


It is believed that Aisha Galadima’s arrest is connected to the face-off between El-Rufai and his successor, Governor Uba Sani.

The governor recently alleged that El-Rufai left behind a huge debt burden for his administration.

I supposed, this was a warm up match for those who doesn't understand Nigerian politics

A country where the highest bidder can use the law enforcement agencies to do their selfish bidding is a disgrace in itself.

Tell me what was so dreadful and terrible in her facebook post (because I read it) that the DSS of all agencies has to commit national resources towards effecting an arrest and detention, only to release her back with no case. This is absurd.
