Though the position of the president can't be underrated cos he over sights all the territory in the country but still I think we are focusing too much on the presidency.

How about the state governors, house of reps members, Senate seats, state assembly, LG is paralyzed already.

If our lawmakers both state and federal have been really doing their work, things should have gotten more better than this.

A good house of reps would have denied most of the unnecessary loans the FG have been taken.

A good house of reps would have focused on bills that would affect the masses positively in general instead of focusing on bills that would only help their pockets.

A good house of reps have the capacity to impeach the president as long as there is quorum for the exercise.

Same applied to state assemblies. Even if the governor or president is a dumbo, a sound house should be able to reject the dead bills from them, but it's unfortunate that the current set of our house of reps members are puppets to state governors or president.

In addition, Dino made us to realised that there is a recall process in our constitution for underperforming representatives. Let's set a bait for them in 2023, if you don't perform you would be recalled.

Who ever becomes president might not ply through your community not to talk of street. How would you expect the presidency to know your needs like bad roads, poor electricity, insecurities.

Our reps should be the piece mouth for the masses. The state assemblies members are the closest to us, what exactly have they been doing?

So it took Ondo state assembly forever to ban open grazing in their state, if such law has been in existence in state laws, how much more of laws they have not been making use that could have solved some of the problems facing their state?

State representatives should be our priority in the next election while the presidency should be secondary, after all who presidency epp? Daura is currently in turmoil, Bayelsa just celebrated first car coming to their community for the first time just this week while OBJ couldn't fix Sango-Ota road

Not in all states and not by all Nigerians.

Many Nigerians and states only talk about presidents when there is need to.

Op, don't mistake the activities of clowns from some 5 villages who always scream Buhari even after trading their destinies for some litres of kerosene. cheesy

Bro, this is irrespective of Nigeria states not to talk of region.

Have you seen any protest against any of the governors? Those state governors that have been crying foul about insecurities, it simply shows they are incapable just like the FG to tackle the insecurities.

When Kalu was interviewed about how he is going to solve the insecurities in the country, he said the state governors that have been allowing criminals to be operating in their respective states want it that way. If they don't want them , they would pursue them far far without even waiting for the presidency.

This is a matter that affects all.

Each time some of talk about holding our state governors, national assembly, state assembly, LG chairmen accountable we are told we have been given 30k.
We blame bad roads on Buhari when we have federal roads, state roads, some people dont even know we have local government roads.
We wailed about local government autonomy now we have it, what are these chairmen doing?
Let's us Ortom of Benue, a state I am unfortunate to come from as an example here.
This man doesn't pay salaries, hasn't fixed 1 road in almost 8 years, he is happy to commision boreholes that wasn't even a state project, brags about a traffic like at B Division, traffic light that was installed my MTN, but he blames everything on the presidency and Nigerians commend him.
Every month he comes up with a story to make the president look bad, this Feb for example now he is saying people are trying to kill him a story we won't hear in the middle of the month.
What is Ortom doing with the monthly allocation and bail out funds? Recently the FG released money to help them pay salaries yet no one is paid in Benue.
Let's look at our National assembly, we have a budget allocation for constituency projects but nobody is holding them accountable for what they have been doing with it?
All national assembly members are staying full time in Abuja. How are they even listening to the people they represent. Every National assembly member should be in their senatorial district and constituency listen to what the people are saying, our National assembly members are visitors in the places they represent, they is budget allocation for offices in their districts and constituencies.
Most of them only have offices in the National assembly complex so their people have to travel to Abuja to have a word with them. Is that representation?
But we don't see all that it's Buhari that's our problem.
The governors forum have been pushing for removal of fuel subsidy and the presidency has been holding back our anger is with the president.
Nigerians travel outside the country and misbehave, killing each other in the name of cultism but we blame the president for the weakness of our international passport. The house of rep member representing me has only spoken two times in the green chamber, sir he has been there for about 16 years now, but my people are only interested in Buhari.
I will stop here I am starting to get very angry.
Down to our traditional rulers who are ass licking governors and can't speak up for their people.
Our biggest problem is not the presidency....
Look at what happened to the palliative.
The FG released funds, food etc.
But it all ended up in the houses of senators, Local government chairmen, traditional rulers etc but we still blame the presidency, are we expecting the president to start sharing rice, beans and garri to every household in the country.
What is a king doing with garri and indomie in a warehouse for fvck sake.
I don dey vex small small abeg.
See I know someone in government who has two tractors parked in his house in Abuja, tractors FG bought to help farmers are in houses of senators and rep members who don't have farms....
Is Buhari going to follow each tractor to every village?

UNTIL WE BEGIN TO HOLD OUR PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE, WE GOES NO WHERE.

make I end am

PS:.Ortom is now retiring civil servants who are not due for retirement unjustly.
My mum was retired in April 2021 despite the state owing her salary for months.
The woman was even happy as she wanted to concentrate and expand her poultry farm.
It was the school that had to take the case up.
Unfortunately the school already made the move before informing her, she is even unhappy about it.
.....

How is Zulum, Ganduje and co doing things...
I mean how do men like Ortom, Abiodun, Hope, etc sit in governors forum with men like Wike, Sanwo-Olu, Ganduje etc.
Them suppose wear mask for meeting

Because the presidency holds too much power. Decentralize power and see people stop focusing on the presidency. You can't eat your cake and have it back.

As the power is yet to be decentralized, why can't we then focus more about our grassroots politicians who would eventually represent us at the federal level.

If our constituency representatives are credible people, then the president won't have such power just as how British lawmakers almost have power than the PM hence replacing them like a tissue paper .

Same goes to state Assemblies, those ones are under the cage of their respective state governors, they only nod head to whatever rubbish bill they bring.

The charity should start from backyard

Because Nigeria pratice Unitary system of government where the president is too powerful.

Until you restructure Nigeria and put true federalism, people will continue to hold the blame the president.
