IMF ASKED YOU TO REMOVE SUBSIDIES WITHOUT ADEQUATE JOB PROVISIONS.
THESE WILL PROMOTE BRAIN DRAIN (JAPA)
THE PEOPLE YOU TRAINED FROM BIRTH TO 20 YEARS
WILL NOW MIGRATE EN-MASSE TO BECOME SLAVES IN WESTERN COUNTRIES.
HUMANS ARE THE NEW COMMODITIES
WHEN ABROAD THEY ARE USED FOR THE MORE MUNDANE MENIAL JOBS
WHILE THEIR OWN CITIZENS ARE FREED TO DO MORE INTELLECTUAL ACTIVITIES THAT WILL LEAD TO NEW DEVELOPMENT IN THEIR COUNTRIES.
NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT IS TAKING ADVISE FROM PEOPLE WHO CAME TO STEAL HUMAN BEINGS FROM AFRICA AS SLAVES (EQUIVALENT OF ENERGY AT THAT TIME) TO BUILD AND DEVELOP THEIR OWN COUNTRIES. NOW THESE PEOPLE ARE ASKING US NOT TO SUBSIDIZE POWER,KNOWING FULLY WELL CHEAP POWER IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO INDUSTRIALIZATION AND DEVELOPMENT.
SAUDI,IRAN,IRAQ,RUSSIA,VENEZUELA AND UAE ALL SUBSIDIZE PETROL/LNG.
EVEN THE USA ! BIDEN RELEASED THE SPR TO SUBSIDIZE/CRASH PETROL PRICE 2 YEARS AGO, SEE LIST OF AMERICAN SUBSIDIES BELOW !!

IMF, WORLD BANK, WTO are Capitaslists' systems of sustained Western imperialism!

I have well over a hundred different topics centering around international politics especially as it concerns Africa. Nairaland does not pay for these kinds of topics, I am starting a YouTube channel soon.

let me make you a promise, there's not a single western "billionaire" in history that attained where they are without any substantial government support. Elon Musk is a direct product and beneficiary of the South African Apartheid system, along with all the White South African billionaires you see today. Elon Musk is a good example of effort meets lots of 'White privilege' and government support in the USA. He and all the rest.

Nobody pays subsidies more than the USA and Western countries geberally, where the head quarters of these organizations are located. The US even pays subsidies on rice, corn, things you never thought possible. Why not poor African populations too?!

Africa can never "be like the West", those are nations built directly and to a great extent on the backs of millions of slave labor, then trillions worth of wealth stolen and gotten through colonialism. It is insanity to even assume you can compare with that.

China is the nation I like to refer to as "the miracle". China, through its own effort and that of its people, lifted about eight hundred million people from poverty. That is more than the population all European countries put together. China today is more advanced and ahead of about all Western countries in most areas and rose from the same level Africa is today forty years ago. Beat that!

If Africa or any single African country must progress we most learn from China, and not the West, definitely not listen to Western tools called the "IMF, World Bank, WTO" and co.

Subsidy on petroleum products in an oil rich and developing nation teeming with a growing population and economy like Nigeria should not even be a question of "if" but "add more". The country grows as businesses and people move, do trade and pay tax and are lifted from poverty.

These Western countries populations are aging and dwindling, they need the trooping skilled laborers from Africa, but this is only one of the reasons they want Africa to remain poor and perpetually in need of "aid" and high interest rate loans from them.

One of the biggest and well organized, widely circulated propaganda on Nigerians and maybe even Africans is the myth that Subsidy is bad. They continue to tell you its bad but non is bold or intelligent enough to ask them why they're the biggest practitioners of it.

Exactly what President Buhari told imf. You pay subsidies in Europe and you expect a poor country like nigeria to stop paying subsidies?

All i know is that no country in africa has developed while implementing imf guidelines.

You're just living in denial.

I remember how you were saying last year that we should give him time, now you saying he's trying.

Let me tell you what Nigerians are going through.

No light. Small scale businesses are collapsing because they can't afford to be buying fuel at over N600 to maintain their business. So many of them have closed down.

Insecurity. Hundreds of Nigerians are being killed on a daily basis. He's not saying anything about it. Kidnappings, terrorism, banditry and the likes are having a field day on defenceless Nigerians.

Inflation. Many people can no longer afford to feed their families because of his policies. He foolishly removed subsidy last year without any justifiable plan in place to cushion the effect on the people. Now we're hearing that he's paying subsidy and it's even higher than it was before and people are suffering. Does that show that he's an intelligent person?

I know about the Agreements like GAT etc. Our farmers cannot even produce enough for local consumption. How can we be talking about subsidising for export? I know that many of the agreements are against third world countries but we need financial muscle to be able to negotiate new agreements.

Well researched! And superior argument! Thank God sheeples like you will never get to hold any serious power.
Somebody wrote a bunch of unrelated mumbo-jumbo without addressing the specific issues we have with our own economy. Without addressing why we spend all our resources subsidizing imported fuel with little to nothing to invest in everything else.
You are here ignorantly hailing it as a superior argument!
Superior to you perhaps. Double shame on you.
