It all depends on your maintenance culture and how much you know about cars. If you buy a toyota you'll be fine, its easier to maintain plus you won't get ripped so much if you're a newbie car owner but if you buy a Mercedes and you don't know much about cars or cost of parts and others a very heartless mechanic(all of them are) will "open office" on your head. That said if you want a car that take you from point A to B without much fuss go fo toyota but if you want to arrive at point B in class and make a statement ; Mercedes but not GLK

Not the Benz ... that won't meet your requirements. Lexus/Totoya much better but depends on your location and needs. If you would be traveling in hilly areas ... and at times with a full load.... rule out the Corolla... need a more powerful engine. Road condition?... if higher clearance is needed ... rule out the Camry opt for the Lexus.
My suggestion would be the Subaru .... as reliable as a Toyota .... AWD and great clearance.

Choosing a car in Nigeria requires balancing "vibe" with the harsh reality of our roads, fuel quality, and the availability of specialized mechanics. With a budget of ₦15m – ₦20m, you have solid options, but some are definitely "mechanical heartbreaks" waiting to happen if you aren't careful.
Here is a breakdown of your list based on reliability and "peace of mind" in the Nigerian context:
1. The "Top Tier" (Buy and Drive)
Toyota Corolla (2016/17/18): This is the king of peace of mind. It’s fuel-efficient, the suspension handles Nigerian potholes reasonably well, and every mechanic from Ladipo to Abuja understands this engine. It has a high resale value, so your money is "safe."
Toyota Camry (2016/17) - "Big Daddy/Muscle": Extremely reliable. The 2016/17 models have fewer transmission "hiccups" than the newer 2018+ models which moved to a more complex 8-speed system.
2. The "Solid Luxury" Choice
Lexus RX 350 (2013): If you want comfort without the Mercedes "maintenance tax," this is it. The 2013 RX 350 is a tank. It uses a bulletproof V6 engine. Watch out for dashboard cracks (common in our heat) and steering rack leaks, but otherwise, it's very dependable.
3. The "Caution" List (Requires Deep Pockets)
Benz GLK 2014: A very "sweet" drive and currently very trendy in Lagos. However, it requires strictly Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and high-quality sensors. If you use a "roadside" mechanic, you will visit the workshop weekly.
Toyota Camry (2018/19): Beautiful car, but the 2018 model year had reported transmission hesitations and shifts that feel "jerky." If you buy this, ensure it has a clean service history.
Honda Accord (2018/20): Honda has moved to Turbocharged engines (1.5T). These are very sensitive to the quality of fuel in Nigeria. If you aren't ready to be picky about where you buy petrol, stick to the Toyotas.
Benz C300 (2016): Stunning car, but the W205 series (2015-present) is notorious for electronic glitches and expensive "auxiliary battery" issues.
Comparison for Your Budget
Toyota Corolla (2016-2018): This vehicle is exceptionally reliable (5/5 stars), with low projected maintenance costs and low sensitivity to fuel price fluctuations.
Lexus RX 350 (2013): A reliable option (4/5 stars) that is expected to have medium maintenance costs and medium sensitivity to rising fuel prices.
Toyota Camry (2016-2017): Very reliable (4/5 stars), similar to the Corolla with low projected maintenance costs and low fuel price sensitivity.
Benz GLK (2014): This car is less reliable (3/5 stars) and is projected to have high maintenance costs and high sensitivity to fuel prices.
Honda Accord (2018-2020): Reliability is moderate (3/5 stars); it has a medium to high maintenance cost and high fuel sensitivity, particularly for the Turbo models.
My Recommendation
If you want to enjoy the car without visiting a mechanic every month:
Lexus RX 350 (2013): Best for comfort/status + reliability.
Toyota Corolla (2017/18): Best for daily commuting and low bills.

I have owned the first 2 (slightly different years though)
Benz GLK 2015 and Toyota Camry 2015.

I will say they are both impressive and have been relatively problemless for me. I have used both of them for more than 2 years and I have travelled extensively with them. I just came back from a 6 hour trip with the Camry days ago and it was a smooth Journey.

However, the GLK is something of a luxury car, if you need an everyday work tool, go for the Camry.

The cons of the GLK is that unless you are heavily loaded, even you will be afraid to just carry it anywhere cos maintenance is on the extreme high side (it doesn't give issues freuently but when it does be prepared to spend). Surprisingly, the fuel consumption on the highway is low almost equivalent to the Camry, though it does consume a lot in inner city drive.

The only con thus far for the Camry is that the 2015 and beyond versions are extremely low, I have several times had to get a panel beater to work on the lower parts of my bumber cos it is always hitting stuff on the ground but the important parts of the car - the engine, the gear and other inner parts are extremely reliable
