Were you expecting everyone to get above 200 before?

The others can choose other non-university institutions or write again

These days, you can make millions and live well without university education

let's discuss.

All of them are to be blamed.

Parents - for willingly paying for cheating on behalf of their wards.

Teachers - For being poor in teaching and rather prefer to show the students answers during exam.

Student - For not being serious with their lives but rather rely on their parents paying for them to pass.

Government - For not providing enabling environment, for being poor on robust policies and for not punishing students, teachers and parents enough if found culpable.

jamb have a syllabus and I don't think any A level question will be included in the exam. Most of the questions are inside the secondary school textbooks. The problem is comes from all sectors, from the students, parents and the teacher. If u check most schools today they are lacking one teacher or the other, or they change teachers regularly or the teachers fail to complete a syllabus in a term then skips it the next term. Another point is students are just too lazy to read. They just glance through and say they have read. Most of them would rather press their phone for 24hrs than read for an exam. They only read like 2 weeks to the exam which isn't enough time. Some it is even on the night of the exam they will read. Parents this days don't bother observing their students education this days. There own is just to pay school fees. When I was younger, my mom would ask me to bring my books each day after school and she would check it. She would also ask me questions on what I was thought for the day.

This isn't about what you think ooo. Most JAMB questions are actually based on A-level. There is a difference between WAEC English and JAMB English... The system we have doesn't prepare students for such questions except for the exceptional ones.

You cannot tell me that students are to blame in an exam where only less than 5% managed to score 250 and above... That's a reflection of a systemic problem. 95% of school leavers cannot be dullards.

Parents and teachers.

Most teachers teach for the money to survive not for the passion

The schools gives good grades to students so that the parents wouldn't withdraw there wards from the school

You can not discipline children due to the reactions of parents.

Teachers no longer care about students welfare

Students no longer read

Shut up! Jamb questions are not usually too concise and broad.

Studying now is difficult with social media.
And then teachers that are being paid 12k in secondary schools to teach chemistry and physics, you think they will teach with commitments as compared to our teachers that taught us back in the days, with comfortable diaries, some even had wife's and children. They were teaching g with joy.

Don't even blame the teachers they need to survive,

Also teachers cannot discipline students , times have changed, you teach and walk out. It totally wrong to discipline.

So only very strong willed student can be motivated

I guess that's how you tell your elders at home to shut up.

You want to engage in a debate but you start by being rude. You're senseless.

Blame d government cos they make education unattractive

How will u motivate a child to read when his siblings who are graduates are languishing in penury

Imagine thousands of graduates being fed by their parents even after graduating?

So u want the same child to tow the same path

Blame the government.
The reason(s) for education needs to be visible enough so as to be able to convince students why they need education. So many people have lost interest in education since even the educated ones are still out there struggling.

Nobody should be blamed
. If you want success, value it
This here is the key! This is what I tell my kids. For them to do well they must really want to be successful. I do my part by putting them in a "good school" because I can afford it.However I am still involved in their academics because I don't believe paying high school fees absolves me from being involved in their education. What I have noticed is that most parents think the only thing a child needs is for them to provide money and they keep plying them with that. This tells on their education.

It’s not the students nor the teachers

Your response shows it is your teacher and you that are amiss

The guy is correct. Yours is not correct.

The only time you use "nor" is when neither is used.

For example, neither James nor John emerged from the tunnel.

You omitted School owners
Replace Teachers with School owners really.
Truth is that standard of education is dying on the altar of "increasing profits" by School owners who are profit maximizing...do your own research

Something is wrong with the mathematics first - The sum of the total scores posted is 1,927,935, not 1,842,464. This is the reason why the percentages didn't add up to 100. 0.5+4.2+24+76 = 104.7
If our public institutions can't get basic mathematics right, why do you blame the students for performing poorly in JAMB? Standards have fallen generally in Nigeria.
