If at all the project will continue, it will stop at the Lagos-Ogun border for obvious reasons! If the intention was really to build that road, it would have been contracted to three different construction companies like Jonathan did Ibadan expressway. |

HIGHESTPOPORI:Work is ongoing on the East-West Road. I am confident Tinubu would complete it. The initial problem was awarding it to an incompetent contractor. What Tinubu intends to do is to have simultaneous construction and repairs nationwide. This would surely create jobs and help the local economies where the roads pass. |

The ignorance of Obi and many of those criticizing this project is they assume govt is paying for it. Govt is only paying a small percentage of the cost of the project. The project is being financed by private funds and will be recouped from tolls. Govt does not have and can can never find the N15 trillion required for this project. That is more than half our entire budget for 2024.. If Obi truly thinks it is the govt building this road, then it is more proof he is ignorant and has no business being president of the country. You are a tenant. A house costs 50m and you cannot afford to build but a developer says pay me 10% up front, I will build the house for you, you will pay me rent you are already paying to a landlord and after 25 years I will have made my profit and the house belongs to you. Will you not agree? Do you have 50m to build a house? Imagine then some simpletons (Obi and his mob) come to say it is a waste of money? Which money? Is the 50m your own money!!! It is only in Nigeria that they will ask you to put down N1trillion as your own contribution towards building a road costing N15 trillion and you will say it is a waste of money!!! It is only Nigeria a tenant will be offered to pay 5m today to own a house worth N50m and he will say it is a waste of money. We are cursed with dead brain cells!! |

kettykin:In 2015, Ben Ayade invited Buhari to turn off the sod to commence the project in Calabar. Unfortunately, the project never took off throughout the 8 years of Buhari's administration. For those who don't know, the project was conceptualized more than 60 years ago, but never took off. Now, someone had the willpower to take it off, enemies of Nigeria are wailing. Those of us from the Niger Delta support the project. |

PlasmaTV:No IBO dead or alive can stop that project. OBASANJO is alive today to witness everything. Who is OBI? To me OBI is nobody if not for Nigeria situation. He is a nobody. Obasanjo, Baba Ayo Adebanjo and Doyin Okupe gave him a platform. Colonel Victor Banjo - a Yoruba planned Biafra war strategy, led Biafra to War. Eventually when he realized things cannot work, he opted for alternative options. They said he planned coup against Ojukwu, he was executed . I pity the IBOS. This OBI is having propaganda depression. Your late Uncle Chukwumerije started propaganda in Nigeria. We were told he was the Biafra Director of Information. While thousands of Biafra people were dying he was boasting and bragging on Biafra Radio that Biafra soldiers have killed Nigerian soldiers. He said they killed Murtala Muhammed and the entire soldiers. He said so many things. He said they killed Benjamin Adekunle and the entire Marine Commando . I believe the way things are going another Chukwumerije will carry another propaganda again. During war, victimization crying will no longer work. |

rotadeco27:Leave Nigerians and their nonsense!! We are not serious people. Somebody is prepared to privately finance a transformational $15b road for you and you saying it is a waste of money. Is it your money? Do you have that kind of money? Your entire budget for 2024 is $20b and you think it is government building a $15b road? You think a govt that only has $20b budget in a year can ever build a $15b road? How daft are these people? Seriously…how daft are they? |

emkz:The hypocrisy of you agbadorians are at another level, see your cunning way of trying to bring in regional sentiment into this honest submission by Peter Obi.If your Tinubu actually loves Niger-delta,why didn't he start the project from the calabar axis, which is obvious to all that this project cannot be completed by this criminal govt. The whole idea is to do a coastal road for Lagos as mooted by the criminal Sanwolu govt, knowing that Sanwolu cannot do it with Lagos fund. Your principal so much love Niger-deltans and yet the military where allowed to run rampage on Ijaw towns and having their elderly hiding in bushes and creeks...so much of love and yet he has been dishing out 90% of his appointments to his Lagos axis Yoruba gangs. |

Wetin this olodo know?.. a man that has no achievement infrastructure wise in his 8 wasted years as Governor of Anambra too is talking. Thank God the colossal failure didn't emerge president, he would have left Yorubaland especially Lagos to rot away while he'd focus on fixing his Igbo people everywhere in juicy positions at Abuja and pushing his ethnic domination agenda throughout the country. Empty vessel. God pass haters.. The Lagos-Calabar coastal highway is a more cost efficient way of reducing all the trailer and tanker queues at Lagos ports causing untold hardship on Lagosians. |

PHIPEX:This is the assumption that exposes the limitations of many of you. Why exactly would the project be abandoned? Has Tinubu ever started any project and abandoned it? Why not wait for the project to be abandoned before complaining? My reading is that some of you are filled with so much hate that any sign of progress is what you unite to fight. Have you been to the US? Do you know the massive investments they did on roads? Do you know the impact of such infrastructure for the communities and for the government? Do you know if farmers can easily transport harvest, it would boost trade and help the economies of the local people? Instead of being cynical, look on the bright side and start looking for opportunities for yourself. Construction workers need to eat. Support someone to open a small food business near the area and make money. It is a pity that many of you have become so damaged that you can't even support progress when you see it. Those of us who have been opportune to visit several countries can attest to the impact of infrastructure in the short and long term. |
