True...I agree. It shouldn't be less than 100k. Prices of things have trippled. 40k a month is a joke.

The proposed isn't realistic and illogical! How many privates companies would be conveniently meet up to pay if govt agreed? Can Ajaero himself pay such amount if he has his own private business? Let's be reasonable! No govt would approve such amount.

My worry here is the many state governors will not comply with the new wage.

States like

Anambra
Enugu
Imo
Abia
Ebonyi

The above states are broke and will not be able to comply with the new wage.

I really feel for workers in this state.

If Peter obi had governed Anambra well without looting, I dont think Anambra state will be broke

dont mind that woman. She admitted and the VP admitted too that the committee has not reached agreement. Committee to make recommendations to government has not reached agreement and she's saying minimum wage will be paid this month

I feel the increase is stingy but the issue here is affordability. It seems Tinubu wants a complete overhaul of the civil service to ensure they workers deliver their best.

In addition, he wants to prune the bloated civil service. I am certain if half the workers were fired today, they can still function maximally without sweat.

I would suggest a trade off: Government deregulates the price of petrol and electricity and in exchange, increase workers salaries by at least 70%.

Government is still owing the 35k palliatives for like 2 months
There is outstanding arrears of almost a year for 25/35 percent increase for FTI staff
And now, they want to start this.
No be to talk o. Hop they can do it.
