I support the demolition for the simple reason that beaches are now being made elitist. I grew up in times when families cold visit the beach , pay affordable access fees and enjoy themselves. The government then only needed determination to keep it clean by employing cleaners/sweepers/pickers. in recent years, every available beach on that axis has been bought from Eko Atlantic/Bar Beach to Landmark to Oniru to the numerous funny names and have ben made private resorts with exploitative access fees just to enjoy nature. The majority of beaches should be public not something you make an enclave to exploit the public with sub par services 9 Likes 1 Share |

I stopped watching the moment I got to the part the speaker said he was witch hunted because he was Igbo (emotional blackmail) Now let me debunk their lies - 100yrs ago, entire place was land owned by the Oniru family. - Over a century the beach was lost to the ocean till the erosion started threatening VI till early 2000s - 2003- BAT engaged Hitech to build the “Wall of Lagos”, reclaim the land and build Eko Atlantic. Reached agreement with Oniru before project on ownership of the land to be reclaimed. - 2007ish- the idea of the coastal road was birthed, to start from Eko Atlantic. - 2007 Landmark bought property backing the “ocean” which is e basically land that based on plan will be reclaimed. With a clearly marked fence that ends just before the water that based on plan will be reclaimed. - - 2017 ish Landmark went to his “backyard and created a football pitch” on a land that he didn’t buy and was collecting money. - 2018ish- Landmark continued expanding on land that they didn’t buy, building shanties and charging money. - 2019-20 Landmark grew bolder and was selling shops space on the beach to businesses. I have to emphasize, on the beach front that he did not buy. - Around 2019/20 Oniru beach also opened up. - Around 2021, LaCampagne also joined them. - 2023- Lekki Deep seaport was completed. Opening up additional economic activity on the coastal line. - 2023- BaT was elected, coastal Hitech revisited their old friend and proposed to start phase 1 that links Eko Atlantic to Deep Seaport - 2024- project started, Road is supposed to pass through LandMark’s “backyard that they didn’t buy. - FG gave notice to everyone including Onirus (that owned the land before it was lost to the sea) and LaCampagne. - Everybody knew this day would come, so everybody Jejely vacated land that they know they did not buy. Landmark said lailai and started media rounds. - 2024- Landmark claimed they have $200m investment on the beach. - Umahi visited and conceded that rather than have 100m corridor, the one at his side will be 50m, and gave Landmark engineering tips to retain the tourism. - Landmark said coastal road should pass in front of property, not the back. The front is 2 line a road, the coastal road is supposed to be 10 lanes. With 100m corridor. Landmark’s proposal will actually affect the land he bought, if accepted. - Last weekend Umahi carried on as planned. Destroyed the shanties on the beach worth “$200m”. It’s too long, but that’s the summary. Oniru Family land was also taken but no one said anything, the Agenda now is that he was targeted because he’s an Igbo man 😂😂😂😂 10 Likes 2 Shares |

This current crop of NLC leadership are the biggest joke in this country. 615k minimum wage. Is Very achievable, when house of assembly and house of representatives collect juicy package it's feasible and possible for the Nigerian workers to receive salary of 615k. 1 Like 1 Share |

Rufia is still pained from elections loss and his epistles and propaganda during the elections ended in the mud. Rufia is another deluded and frustrated obirodent miscreant. Always turning everything to negative news to justify his pay from his masters. It has been explained many times landmark buildings are not going to be demolished. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

The attack on Igbo investment in Lagos is getting out of hand. The houses they demolished last year, was said to have been built along water ways without proper papers. And some of you defended it. So tell us, what type of Paper did Landmark miss in this? I laugh at the ignorance of some 40s and 50s Igbo elites in Lagos, who think the ongoing onslaught has no tribal connotations but government policy. If a meeting where someone like Pastor Tunde Bakare was present, could discuss how to checkmate Ndi Igbo in Lagos, then the caliber of people who attended the meeting are capable of taking actions that are targeted against Ndi Igbo. |

Kenochi: Who is gonna maintain this road assuming Tinubu govt will ever complete the road from Lagos to the oil areas? Demolishing a most expensive Landmark in an attempt to build a coastal highway to join Oil producing areas to Lagos is most malicious in conception. |
