See person business, wetin Igbo do una?
What is igbo this or igbo that, costal belongs to FG and he knows b4 starting the business. No sympathy simply because the project is bigger than a single Nigerian. Anambra, rivers and other states have being demolishing people businesses but it's right, why this is not right. Ok let's ask this question, Are we saying FG should stop building coastal highway because of someone business? Moreso, obi lack knowledge and vision, the Internal roads are not ok because there was no costal roads. If u know the importance of ring roads, that's the junior brother to coastal roads of a nation. Truck and tankers can move a very long kilometers on coastal roads without causing issues or pressure within the state roads.

Igbo, Igbo, igbo Kai. Whoever swears for una do you strong thing oh haba. Is this the first time State and federal Government will compensate people and businesses for using the land to construct roads and other infrastructure that will benefit the public? Had there been anytime Government will embark on road project anywhere and people won't cry? What is new here? Soludo is doing same presently in Anambra. Same thing all over the country. Governors yet unborn will still demolish buildings and pay compensation.

Let me speak from my experience as a practitioner and a professional in this field
I said in an earlier thread that all Ocean Coastline in Nigeria belong to the Federal Government and they are the only entity that can issue titles in that regards,I am not capping but I was taught this in my University Undergrads days
I have challenged Landmark to seek legal redress because this is a very huge investment and we need to settle this matter of who really owns the Ocean Coastline once and for all

I also challenged Landmark to publish his documents to the general public and also for everyone involved to openly produce all certified drawings and plans of both the old abd new coastal roads

Sometimes it is better to keep quiet before you get all the facts
I agree with you sir.
If government is demolishing a business that has all the approved papers..then they will be entitled to compensation.

Landmark should do the needful if they have all the approved papers and If they built within an approved boundary... then they should pursue compensation.

There is too much media noise on this Landmark issue and it is based only half on truths and emotions.

Sadly yes, jobs would be lost...but new jobs too would be created by this project.

When tribalism clog your eyes that’s all you see, why must the road start from Lagos and not others places where nobody has anything to lose??
You have no answer ofcourse with your mental capacity grin
I get paid more than Rufai. Infact, Rufai cannot pass the entry level interview of the company I work for.

How much is Rufai salary? Maybe he might be richer than your family, but you should understand that it’s not everybody that is broke like your own family.

Oga, that whole beach area is earmarked to be SANDFILLED as part of Eko Atlantic Phase 2 development. There is not supposed to be anything there. They are all there illegally. It’s just that the govt left them.

- 100yrs ago, entire place was land owned by the Oniru family.

- Over a century the beach was lost to the ocean till the erosion started threatening VI till early 2000s

- 2003- BAT engaged Hitech to build the “Wall of Lagos”, reclaim the land and build Eko Atlantic. Reached agreement with Oniru before project on ownership of the land to be reclaimed.

- 2007ish- the idea of the coastal road was birthed, to start from Eko Atlantic.

- 2007 Landmark bought property backing the “ocean” which is e basically land that based on plan will be reclaimed. With a clearly marked fence that ends just before the water that based on plan will be reclaimed.

- - 2017 ish Landmark went to his “backyard and created a football pitch” on a land that he didn’t buy and was collecting money.

- 2018ish- Landmark continued expanding on land that they didn’t buy, building shanties and charging money.

- 2019-20 Landmark grew bolder and was selling shops space on the beach to businesses. I have to emphasize, on the beach front that he did not buy.

- Around 2019/20 Oniru beach also opened up.
- Around 2021, LaCampagne also joined them.

- 2023- Lekki Deep seaport was completed. Opening up additional economic activity on the coastal line.

- 2023- BaT was elected, coastal Hitech revisited their old friend and proposed to start phase 1 that links Eko Atlantic to Deep Seaport

- 2024- project started, Road is supposed to pass through LandMark’s “backyard that they didn’t buy.

- FG gave notice to everyone including Onirus (that owned the land before it was lost to the sea) and LaCampagne.

- Everybody knew this day would come, so everybody Jejely vacated land that they know they did not buy. Landmark said lailai and started media rounds.

- 2024- Landmark claimed they have $200m investment on the beach.

- Umahi visited and conceded that rather than have 100m corridor, the one at his side will be 50m, and gave Landmark engineering tips to retain the tourism.

- Landmark said coastal road should pass in front of property, not the back. The front is 2 line a road, the coastal road is supposed to be 10 lanes. With 100m corridor. Landmark’s proposal will actually affect the land he bought, if accepted.

- Last weekend Umahi carried on as planned. Destroyed the shanties on the beach worth “$200m”.

It’s too long, but that’s the summary.

Oniru Family land was also taken but no one said anything, the Agenda now is that he was targeted because he’s an Igbo man 😂😂😂😂
Oniru family owns no beach, that so called Oniru beach was known as Moroko, the owner is the maroko community even till today

In present day Nigeria, The beach is own by the federal government of NIgeria and not Oniru

its really disappointing when people bring in witchhunt and tribalism to some matters, its even in the video, because he is IGBO really

In my parent area for instance there is a place we called Government acquisition, people that built houses in the 90's avoided that land and went inside to buy land .... fastforward to 2014 igbos started trooping in to buy the government acquisition land today its filled with big big houses

But my drive is, should FG come for the land and start demolishing houses some nonetities we term it as witch-hunt, govt is after IGBOs
My papa wey no buy the land even though he had the money to buy a hectare then no sharp abi

IGBOs take some reckless risk, land wey yoruba rich man no buy just carry igbo man go there he go buy am ... thinking he can maneuver his way if that one no work he screams witch hunt, becos am igbo

will the victim card/mentality ever stop

You've said it all. I have also taken my time to explain this but the Igbos here are not even willing to give common sense a chance.

What is today known as landmark beach will tomorrow be just another parcel of land when the phase 2 of Eko Atlantic city kicks off. According to obidients here that refuse to think, phase 2 of Eko Atlantic city should be abandoned because of one man's business on a land which isn't his. Tribalism will lead us no where in this country.

I honestly feel Obi, Rufai n these youtubers seeking views are only interested in lamenting n trending not interested in kicking APC n these guys out.

Sadly alot of people have suffered n will suffer from the fallout of obi n these APC govt drama.

Zero strayegy before elections, zero strategy after elections. Same results, same lamentations all over the country.

Shame...

If u look at this picture, after destroying Landmark bsuiness because he is Igbo, they then rejoin the main route.

Now the same road is in front and at the back, where is that done.

when Landmark built that business the original design for the road was suppose to be in front, all of a sudden they change it to the back.

Duplicate 1 road into two just to destroy a Nigerian own business and then rejoin the original route.

Landmark should sue them to court to pay for the remainder of the bsuiness.

I dont think any sane person will invest in Lagos, when u can go and invest in Ghana or Sierra Leone or Senegal and your investment wont be turn to tribal bigotry

People dont come to Nigeria, they go to other African countries, like Ghana, Kenya, South Africa even Uganda etc. He should pack up Land Mark and move to another African country for the sake of his sanity.
The map you shared is the reason why land mark will not go to court.

The sand filling from eko Atlantic was already going before landmark beach was founded. Infact, landmark was said to be aware that the beach will not last

Changing the direction of the road is to save much properties from being destroyed. The other beach that was entirely destroyed was owned by a Yoruba man.

The coastline which is the beach legally belongs to government

Land mark beach building is not affected so he has no case and deserves no compensation

Thats a road in the red line, just need to be expanded. That was even the original design. Hatred can always be justified
motymop:
He works for an opposition TV station that see everything based on tribe

Guys kindly look at the picture below, some people said government need to destroy all the properties in the red lines to build way for the coastal high way, while properties on the yellow line need to be left because Landmark beach resort is situated there

Now think for yourself

which of the lines below in the picture is likely to create more harm and damage, the red or yellow

You can see how the red lines are all occupied by buildings and businesses while the buildings in the yellow lines are scanty

Lets be factual, it is not as if land mark building was destroyed. The beach front was destroyed to create way for a government project that will ease travelling for everyone and those living in the axis.

Coastal shorelines are owned by the federal government, we all know that.

some section of the country want government to destroy all those properties and businesses on the red axis and leave the yellow one because an igbo man own a property there.

you can clearly see the amount of damage that will be done if government destroy the properties and businesses on the red axis compared to the yellow axis
