A dealer I know sells her New Hope feed for broilers at N18200. Another one I know sells for N18500 and N19200.

Yours is most likely the professional line which are yellow bags. If so, 600 bags is the minimum you can buy from the company directly at whole sale price. So, the prices you have are in order. Each line has I think 3 kinds of products. For the professional which I prefer for 6 weeks aggressive bulk up, they have starter crumble, starter pallet or non pallet or so, and finisher pallet or non pallet. Not sure of the non pallets cos I always use pallets. And they are different prices.

The lines have different nutrients, crude protein, energy levels etc. You need to understand all the lines New Hope has got so you can choose wisely.

Depending on your broilers' breed, you should choose wisely.

There's no harm in trying bro, but make your research regarding cost of production and what it costs at the end of production to know if the profit is commensurable with the input.
Secondly, do you have buyers readily available to offtake them from your hand immediately they are due for disposal, else they end up consuming the profit you are supposed to make.

One of the beautiful thing i love about my poultry is the invasion of snakes. After all these months of peaceful cohabitation between me and the pythons, one decided to go rough tonight. Just as I was about hitting the bed and calling it a day, I decided to do a quick check one last time. Lo and behold, Miss Python decided to breach our agreement by trying to climb the barrier and attacking my birds... .
Sharp sharp, with my sharpened short cutlass, na so i sentenced the rough snake to snakeopia. Off with its head, with one mighty swing of my cutlass which has never disappointed me.

These are 8 weeks birds. The birds i started with are already 5months plus and 5% already dropping eggs.

Moreover, these are birds raised by a farm which I supervised, but unfortunately, the owner is hit by the japa syndrome (hope u understand what I mean).

What is the feeding schedule for layers

From DOC to laying.

For Broilers I know you feed with Starter then switch to Finisher around 4 weeks until you sell.

I will like to know the schedule for layers. Is the starter for Broilers and layers the same?

Still very much into this project... Not abandoned biko . Like I said from the onset, the sole aim is to produce eggs for personal consumption and well, maybe sell some if it becomes too much to consume

For those inquiring about the pen I was building, it's been finished a long time ago. Will get my cages soon jare!!! I no wan rush myself biko...lol

Updates on the birds

So far, so good. Mortality rate was minimal, a total of 10 birds were lost.
Sold off the rest after series of pressures from buyers hahahahaha!!!

Sold at 22 weeks at N4,700.

Kept 115 birds to myself and they are presently giving me an average of 2 and Half crates a day. (Poor or not, make i leave them like that).

hmmm... well, it's simply a mixture of Palleted wheat offal, pkc, enzymes, oysters shell and .... (I intentionally left out on what ratio). I introduced the feed to them since 9 weeks of age.

Wow, nice. You've proven a point though: it is still possible to rear layers on a low budget if you are skilled.

Hope you sha kept like 4 or 5 for household egg consumption :

Kept 30 birds back on the farm. That was the sole purpose in venturing into the project in the first place, not even now when egg consumption isn't for the poor again.

Totally free-ranged on the farm and they are doing excellently well. An average of 20 eggs per day from the 30 birds.

But mehn, I dey scout for eggs like gulder ultimate search. . I tried restricting then to a certain area to make it easy, but chickens will be chickens .

Moreover, my Ugu plants GONE! Waterleaves, GONE!! Bitter leaves, ALL GONE!!!!

A lot of people are suffering from hidden hunger nowadays and major part of it is insufficient intake of animal protein. Two eggs per day will go a long way.

Good thing I have very proud neighbors ooo...hahahahahaha!!! Shame no go allow them collect eggs from me. Lol

I have this Fulani friend of mine that buys from me from time to time to use in his Noodles business. I even get free late night meals occasionally.

Hahaha vegetarian layers. The egg yolk will be so so golden in colour and their faeces odour will be reduced. Watch out for snakes though
