While your assertion may be true if put in the right context eg airports in places where people cannot afford it, but this thread is very specific. So I co ask you, do you agree with the guy who said the 3rd main land bridge offers no economic benefit and that we were better off using canoes and ferry to carry people across the river?
igwebuike01:

You need to read the book "confession of economic hitmen". Most infrastructure in Africa are useless and their economic growth are artificial. All are manipulation of big western corporation in connivance with money lending organizations

The coastal road is expected to have a train station at the middle.
Another story. The route of the coastal railway is different from Tinupoo's coastal highway. We all know tinupoo will not go beyond Lagos

I do not understand, should it be done or should government leave it as it is since it (using your economic benefit chart) does not offer any economic benefit?

Should FG position able bodied men at both sections of the road to carry people across the bad sections??

It should only be done with revenue generated by government... Borrowed Kobo should never be spent on the road

How is this basics thing difficult to understand

Good... All the roads can work together. The beginning of this post shows the different ones that are still ongoing. Even the one in this video has already being earmark to be done: https://www.nairaland.com/8073918/edo-residents-thank-tinubu-akpakomiza/5

Nothing stops work from being done concurrently on all priority roads including the legacy project of the coastal road.
igwebuike01:

This road and many other roads are actually a priority not a new coastal road in the middle of serious hardship

I thought we are talking about Tinubu's coastal road. It's à complete waste of resources or money laundering conduit

Great you have answered the question.

The road can be abandoned for all your care because you fell it offers no economic benefit, rather government can gather the people of the community together and give them some money to share in the name of giving them loans to start businesses.

This legacy project mentality is nonsense. That's why most of you believe that Obi did nothing as governor. Every road cannot be worked, there must be priority areas and government is a continuum

So you prefer an expense like that of Yaya Bello spending on school fees for just his kids than the man who has decided to invest on a project that will open up new areas and even pay for itself via tollin?

So, is there any specific road that you know that has been stopped because of this coastal road?

Of course. Funding SMEs through FG loans and grants is a more pressing need than some feel good useless "infrastructure".

In that regards Buhari did very well with the anchor borrowers program plus, many other graduate programs and grants, right?

Credit facilities is not sharing money

You loan to banks at a low interest... They look for people that Meet the criteria give them the loan at a higher interest agreed between them and FG

You are doing this because this would most certainly increase revenue which can then be used to fix the road

How is this difficult to understand??

You Igbos can cry from now till eternity, the coastal road would be started and completed.
I don't know why we southerner must especially the igbos hate anything called development and would oppose it. If it were to be a northern President that embark on this project, all this clowns making noise now would have kept quiet. When Buhari embark on the Niger train project, northerners did not object to it neither was there any major opposition to it but see the so called educated SE people making noise on a daily basis. I am beginning to accept my conviction that Majority of SE people don't love this country

You want me to descend to the level of questioning the economic benefit of an infrastructure like the third mainland bridge? LIke seriously?

Please, I'd pass. Thanks.

This looks like an alternate moniker.

Its one of the most unintelligent statement I've seen here recently..trully

How can any right thinking person say 3rd mainland bridge have no economic benefit because it is not generating revenue for the govt.

Will the growth in VI, VGC, lekki axis have taken place without the bridge?

It takes a very shallow mind to come up with such statement, or to support it in any form or shape.
