Nothing scares me than a rider asking “how are you doing?” Over the phone. The way I first pulse before saying anything 😂 it’s so unusual.

Abeg where una deh see fuel… total hours I’ve queue since this fuel madness can be sum up to 5 hours.

No mind then, they act Like as if they don't what is going on in our beloved country grin

Bro I was lucky to buy full tank on Sunday early momo, before the real scarcity started. Na that fuel I still dey use till now. I am judiciously prudent with the fuel. No yamayama trip. No traffic trip, no matter the surge. No long pick ups. No round trips on the app except is negotiated offline, No going to destinations where I will blow empty to come back to my favourite routes. Eg ikorodu

10k to 15k everyday target (2-3 trips) I don go house to reserve the fuel for the following day. As I am talking to you now. My tank is a bit above half tank 3/4 of fuel remaining. I wan use am till weekend before I hunt for another one at NNPC Ogudu express.

This hustle will change your character if you're not patient and careful! I did the unthinkable and I regret it so badly.

Picked this babe with her make up luggage. She entered and didn't even greet. No issues with that. I greeted and she ignored. No issues still.

Oga, Increase your A/C, I did. Oga, reduce the radio or put it off, I obeyed. She was giving me so much attitude but I still ignored.

Got to her destination, ended trip and showed her the amount(bolt)
She said she can't pay that amount, that the amount wasn't what bolt brought when she ordered.

I said Madam, you will pay me my complete money. She said ok now, make we dey see! I put off my car and got down. She got down too and said she has all the day to wait. I said; Madam, I cannot wait, I have work to do. Pls pay me my money, and let me go. She didn't answer me. She was just using me to make calls.

I just entered my car, started it, then she started shouting that her luggage is in the trunk. Omo, I zoomed off. Entered the next street and parked there. She started calling, crying and begging me that she will pay any amount for her luggage.

I said; Madam, I don't need any amount. Send me my money and I'll come back with your luggage. I sent her my acct and she sent it.

Came back and I quickly dropped her luggage. Entered my car sharply and drove off immediately. She reported me. Bolt blocked me. I sent them a mail explaining what happened. They said next time I should leave the rider and report to them. They unblocked me the next day.

Notwithstanding, I still hate my actions though! That was never my kind of person.

It is, don't mind them.
That same amount they show you when you receive the request is what you will see at the end of the trip, whether you wait for passenger to branch somewhere or you take the passenger beyond the destination pinpoint or you pass longer route, expect same price...

I actually carried someone from tejuoso, the person booked berger bus stop but when we got to berger, I still drove another 3km to 5lm to inside ojodu, going towards akute.
It's supposed to add at least little to the fare considering going beyond the destination but it brought exactly the amount I saw when the request came in.
I had to tell the rider that it won't increase and since she's going beyond the destination she booked, she will have to add to the fare, she added 1k herself.

This thing they are doing will make people decline request going towards traffic area and riders will get stranded more...

One thing indrive will never do is blocking your account after a rider (of one trip) complains to them, instead, your driver star would drop.
Well, my account has never been suspended since I been don dey use indrive.

By the way, I like how you handled that situation by "driving her luggages go another street", thumbs up for you.

Good evening everyone.

How was our day?

I am new here and I need your guidance.

I own a Honda Accord 2010 and I want to start doing Uber (only) on Saturdays majorly. I don’t know if I would be able to add Sunday. I have a 9-5 job.

Please share all the possible advice with me as I have mostly been a rider.

What documents would I need? Is there a thread on the registration steps?

Thank you for your help

Since you do 9-5, take Saturday and Sunday for test-running the hustle. These two days would be a perfect run for you as a starter.
All documents required, you have them already.
Just download the indrive and follow the steps in registration, no special document required, only the ones you already have.
To your last question, download indrive and start the registration, whichever one you encounter and don't understand, screenshot and post it here, you would get support.

Much respect, sir.

Thank you for your response. Much appreciated.

However, do you think I should choose InDrive over Uber? Or I should register on both.

Due to my inexperience, I was thinking that I should go for a platform that helps me estimate the trip fares as I am not knowledgeable about prices that would favour me.

Start with the main apps.. Uber/Bolt.

Don't chase targets.

Work only when there's surge. As a newbie, if you are working on Bolt/Uber without surge, you are just flogging the car with minimal gains. E hailing cpys won't tell you this, they are just going to confuse you with deceptive ads on Facebook .

Go to areas you know and are familiar with.
If you reside on the island. I will advise you take trips only on the island for now.

Rider discount is money ( from the commission you are meant to pay Bolt) given to riders ..It's pretty simple and straightforward.

Why did you regret your actions, that was the best way to handle the situation, she's with your money and you're with her luggage, a better way to exchange her luggage for your money...

You would have lost that money if you weren't with her luggage and bolt will only return 50% of it after removing commission from the full payment which means you will be left with just 25% of the total payment...

No vex oo But I don’t think the hustle will change your character it can change your mindset but not your character.
I believe that was a part of you that you never knew existed. When men are under pressure they exhibit characters that will shock even themselves.
Husband that never slapped a woman before will get married and slap his wife cos of pressure.

I thought Uber/bolt was compensating drivers for “Rider did not pay” complaints
Bolt should be a professional and prestigious way of transport. You shouldn’t be fighting for your money if riders don’t pay bolt should pay and block rider

But I don’t blame you at all after queuing for fuel, you don’t want to take chances of loosing money and hearing stories from bolt.

The Bolded is fact not an insinuation, some riders are demonically possess. Some riders, spirit of violence dey follow them, some spirit of death, some spirit of badluck. The ones with badluck. Once you carry them your car will start developing fault, you go dey spend unnecessary and unbudgeted money on your car through out that day, week or month. Is either you collide with someone's car, or some one collide with your car. Or you got even enter police or Lastma wahala. Or even get accident. Those ones with spirit of violence, nah dem dey bring up issues that will lead to physical fight, assault and false accusations wey dey make BOLT block drivers accant grin

A friend of mine once picked a rider from one club at surulere at night going to ikoyi, when they got to Obalende. She ask him to end the trip at ikoyi road where they have ikoyi passport office, she got down from car and threw transport fare to him through the car windows. My guy was sitting in the car, as he bent down to pick up the money and he raised his head. The rider he carried turned to a big dark image and disappeared near the cemetery there.

He said immediately his head began to swell up and goosebumps were all over his body. After that encounter he fell sick for days.

This job makes someone vulnerable to assault, physical and spiritual attack, if you no dey spiritually strong or your head no strong. You go see shege banza.

You know how many drivers wey dey carry spirit thinking they dey are carrying human, Most especially at night. I no blame some drivers wey dey put Big Bible on top Dashboard grin

Omo make I leave this story for another day.

Omo wahala no dey finish for this hustle!

I picked this lady from old secretariat ikeja to shomolu(oloja, off olorunkemi) After dropping her, I got another one from off folagoro to barikisu iyede(one lounge like that)....a guy!

I closed and drove home after dropping the guy. This lady called me and said she forgot her nokia phone in the car. Apparently she sat in front and I didn't see any phone.

So I told her that I'll check and if I didn't see it, I'll go back to the lounge and meet the guy. I drove straight to the lounge and met the guy with his friends. I pleaded with him but he told me he didn't see any phone. He showed the 2 iPhone he uses. I begged him so much but he said; sir, honestly I didn't see any phone. Then I called the lady again and she rejected my call.

I sent her a message that I'm trying to help her but she's rejecting my calls. She called not quite long to threaten me that she will find me and lock me up, and she will make sure I'm severely dealt with. She also said she will go to bolt office and report me that I'm a thieve!

Omo I just taya for all these wahala! Wetin be all these temptation for God's sake?

Maybe I should just leave bolt and continue with my indrive. I no dey get all these yamayama wahala for indrive.

Meanwhile I told her that I'm innocent and whatever she wants to do, she should go ahead.

No one is above mistake but the Lady should also learn to take responsibility for what happened. She paid you to take her to her destination and not to watch over her property while in your Car, you have done your best to see if the phone can be found, let her go to the police to track her phone to know who the criminal was.

Wait, why are you shivering over this, did you see any phone in your car?
How are you sure the phone was even left in your car, just tell her you can't find any phone in your car and that's all.

If she reports you, let them know immediately she called you, you searched your car and you couldn't find any phone and you're so sure the phone wasn't misplaced in your car, she should look elsewhere abeg....

She got nothing on you except you don't know how to defend yourself, even if she actually left it in your car, you can't find it and you're not the one who made her forget it, she should be responsible for her own carelessness....

There was a day a guy forgot his phone at the back seat of my car, it was a very good rider that called my attention to it, I took the guy on indrive and apparently, he has informed indrive of the missing phone and they sent me pop up message with his phone number and I called him but I let him know that if another person I carried after him has taken the phone, there will be nothing I could have done other than tell him I can't find his phone and he said that's true and he would have taken responsibility for loosing his phone....
