jospepper: Sometimes I wonder if you people read at all. Obaseki was the only Governor in Nigeria paying 40k minimum wage without oweing any worker while others were struggling to pay 30k. Now he has increased it to 70k you are complaining. Was it because of election he increased to 40k in 2020? 3 Likes |

Bobloco:Why should he. The 40k wage that obaseki is owing 6 months backlog and yet still increased it to 70k. If he's unable to pay 40k, what's the guarantee he'll pay 70k. 1 Like |

Obaseki has been paying above the minimum wage for a long time now. Increasing it now to what the FG has proposed shows good leadership. Plus I dont know where he has been owing salaries. I know a ministry worker who has been collecting sslary monthly |

3ple9iner:Don't mind these small boys. They think Lagos nah there mate. Lagos will not even make noise so as not to impact inflation. Tinubu has planned for Lagos for the next 1000 years Lagos will always be above them. That's why I laugh at the Agulu fraud supporters. |

Freebills12: Why not talking about the 35k palliative allowance that FG and some states has paid their workers, which your failure Obaseki refuse to pay after the collection of 5 billion naira from FG. It's systemic vote buying of civil servants, Benin city worse than Ajegunle in Lagos after heavy down pour. You're here glorifying failure. |

Freebills12: Many people hate Obaseki for no tenable reason. They condemn his style of leadership. But the guy runs one of the most financially efficient and prudent state machinery in Nigeria. Just because he fell out with Oshiomhole and rubbished Tinubu's attempted interference during the last governorship tussle, they labeled him a devil. Sincerely speaking, I would want the Asue guy to just carry on for stability sake. Obaseki cut off all political patronage so that he does not have to borrow to fund workers welfare. Yet they demonize him. 1 Like |

Firstly, whether Greek gifts or not, it is better than nothing. Secondly, let Edo Workers ask him of how much he will pay them as minimum wage if voted for him. And also, let them make him sign an explicit agreement of how much he will pay them and when if voted into power. |

One thing I observed about obaseki is that he doesn't hide or play politics with some issues Eg He mentioned first that nigeria was broke, tinubu had to remove subsidy He mentioned how strong LP were even when people didn't see it So He doesn't beat about the bush about new wage, government can't pay more than 70k So why confuse yourself with nlc useless unachievable 615k proposal |

ddippset: He is still better than Oshiomole who increased minimum wage while he was about to leave and set implementation to when he will be out of office. Obaseki is governor officially till end if the year. The first payment of #70,000 minimum wage will take place May 28. Wait till them before cursing his efforts at blessing edo state workers, wa do do!! |
