Criminal African leaders who think about themselves only! Make no mistake about this, this is a lopsided deal and everyone involved knows this but because there no transparency and African leaders are criminal, they don't mind.

That $13B is gone with this regime, South Sudan don't generate enough to pay this gbese. Whatever happens to oil prices, South Sudan will suffer during the period and even after. Are they struggling to sell their oil? $10 less per barrel looks small until you realize between now and 20 years, oil prices will fluctuate significantly.
Let's remove the corruption part out. How is the deal lopsided?

S Sudan's produces about 140,000 BPD
Oil price is at $80

These guys no chop Sudan like that oh, if you use a worst case scenario of dividing that BPD by 2.

You can not remove corruption factor because that is the most important factor.

How much has S. Sudan generated as GDP over the last 10 years?

When i mentioned "Fair deal", i was talking about the deal between the country and the firm.

If the president like, make e pack the money put for Sportybet.

It is the business between both entities i was referring to

South Sudan averages $7B as annual GDP for a country with 10M people. $7B is nearly twice the loaned amount, how much will be spent in servicing that loan for the period? Dubai knows South Sudan cannot fulfil the terms of repayment over that period so the incentive for them is assured oil at a discounted rate for another decade or more after 20 years. Even Naija with more than 200M people and over $400B GDP through NNPCL negotiated 3.3B oil for cash deal.

Government should be giving more attention to the self induced suffering it brought on Nigerians. This government brought pain and suffering.

Apart from the fact that it is not a priority, the whole contract deal is shrouded in corruption and favouritism.
The govt is building infrastructure that will open up other sectors and increase the economy

There was always suffering and pain

Who did Umahi favor in the project

@Izzou, na the fair deal be dis abi? The people of South Sudan should Sope O TI LO

"The agreement was signed on 28 December by South Sudan’s former Finance Minister, Bak Barnaba, and Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, chairman of the Hamad Bin Khalifa Department of Projects (HBKDOP), according to the term sheet seen by Reuters.

It was not clear if the first tranche of the loan, worth $5.24 billion, had been delivered yet.

South Sudan’s Minister of Information Michael Makuei denied such a deal had been signed, asking: “How can one minister sign such a document alone on behalf of the government?”

He declined to comment further when Reuters shared with him a copy of the signed term sheet."

Any business enterprise has Capex and opex budgets

They have capital projects, maintenance projects, operations budget

I do not expect working adults to subscribe to this

Lagos state is finishing a bridge that will link festac to orile and Apapa oshodi expressway. Last week I was driving through orile and I passed the bridge and entered an hour long traffic jam. If the bridge had been open I would have been home in 20 minutes. When that bridge opens you can pass mile 2 hold up and be on the express in 10 minutes instead of an hour. Going by your poll, that bridge should not have been done until every bad road in festac is fixed.

Lekki Epe road is being expanded that one too shoudk be abandoned because there are several bad roads

Every day we juggle priorities because money is limited. There are Capex spend that will have far more impact on your bottom Line or quality of life than maintenance spend. In 2007 we upgraded a station that station became our number one revenue earner. But if we had been using a twitter poll we would have left that project and maybe upgraded some tier 3 low earner stations that would have brought in less than 5% equivalent revenue.

Chief leave Twitter polls for the obidient children pretending not to know how opportunity cost works

The questions they should be asking at this point are about project financing.

Nothing concerns me with how the people of Sudan perceives it. I no dey the country

Someone giving you $13bn upfront, with a measly 140k BPD per day you make, is fair.

Tbh,i don't understand all these false equivalence with bridges. Nobody will ask all the roads to be in perfect conditions before bridges are constructed like we are asking about roads. Bridges are built for specific purpose whiles roads covers many functions.

I'm sure you would be furious at lagos state government if they left Oshodi-appa expressway unattended to start a new coastal road from ijaniki to oluti .

, I can't really say I blame him.

He came to the studio to do his job, which was to paint his bosses in the most favourable light, by any means necessary.

It was the interviewer's job however, to challenge Ajuri for a description of what metrics were used to determine such a blatant lie. But the fool was nodding his head and making agreeable "hmms" whilst Ajuri was getting his shït off.

See the people that are key stakeholders commending the project

In 2001, he said, Tinubu, then the governor of Lagos State, convened a conference of governors from the south-east and south-south in Marina, where the necessity of constructing the superhighway was discussed.

“Mr President, I want to applaud your courage and determination for the development of the Niger Delta region as exemplified by the Federal Executive Council’s approval of the construction of Lagos-Port Harcourt-Calabar Coastal Superhighway,” Ibori said.

“I recall that as governors, we deliberated on the need for the construction of the Coastal road during our meeting of South West and South-South governors which you hosted in Marina as Lagos state governor in 2001.”

Elder statesman and foremost leader of the Ijaw nation, Chief Edwin Clark, has described the N1.06trn Lagos -Calabar Coastal Road as a landmark project, which if completed will change the landscape of infrastructural development in Nigeria.

Clark gave the assertion in an open letter he wrote to President Bola Tinubu, copies of which were made available to journalists in Abuja on Friday.

The septuagenarian said it was particularly pleasing to note that the project was being executed as a Public Private Partnership (PPP).

He said, “This means that a substantial portion of the funding, which is over N1trillion, will be coming from the private sector.

“I assure you that we will not only endorse this project but will fully extend our support to ensure its completion especially at the areas of the Niger Delta where it will pass through.”
