Some of you are unredeemable tribalist. You need to study history. Awolowo was the brain behind the blockade of the eastern region during the civil war that led to the starvation of Igbo children. Secondly he was the Finance Minister when he decided on the £20 policy that made the SE lose all their savings after the war.

I might be Yoruba but when I see the truth I will say it. If it were you would you vote for him? It was personal against Awo.

It was their choice to vote Peter Obi in 2023. How is that a crime. He was the youngest and most technical and I know Igbo guys that supported Osinbajo until he lost primaries. Rest.

You mean Awo was responsible for this?!!! No wonder Ojukwu was wrapped in Nigeria's flag after he died and not Biafran flag.

Where do you put Aba and Onitsha

You deliberately refused to mention of the two most cosmopolitan cities in Nigeria because of the fact that you are an ethnic bigot
Those two towns are homogeneous and full of Ibo people. Even aba protested against Otti electing a ceremonial mayor (a man from Anambra) over them.

See how you think like a baboon. I'm not surprised since your ancestors just came down from their forest abode in 1900.

Southeast is the only region that voted their tribesman even useless as he is and claim he's useful after dumping 100s of dead men in Izu river in 2011 and running to lagos of those who voted competency to seek safety. Cannibals!

It takes a baboon to know that another thinks like one

Stop saying what you don’t know. When SE field a Ibo candidate that is in the top 3 choice, they will always vote that candidate.

In 1979, SE voted Azikiwe overwhelmingly. Can you beat your chest and say Azikiwe was better than Awolowo?

Even in 1983, same pattern replayed itself.

Ojukwu is a weakling in politics. He couldn’t even win a senatorial election let alone a national election. All through your years of voting PDP since 1999, you’ve never had any strong Ibo that break into the top three until Obi.

Below is 1979, now repeat the statement “SE don’t vote tribalism” again.

Mumu. Did u notice that Bendel comprising of Abia and part of Imo today voted Awolowo? Did u see that Rivers comprising igbo parts today voted Shagari?

You can’t lie against data

I don’t swim in mud like you. Your education is a total waste.

After Awolowo did these good deeds for the South West what efforts did he make to pacify the South East for the decisions taken during the war. Even Gowon apologized, he visited the widows of old Nigerian Army comrades that served in the Biafran war and made efforts to reconcile.

The major point is tribalism is fueled by the politicians for their benefits. If the SE hated the whole Yoruba nation because of what Awo did then they wouldn’t even vote for Obasanjo. I have traveled to over 24 states in Nigeria and have friends everywhere and proud to say I listen to all sides of the story.
The SE personally did not vote Awo for what they felt he did to them and it was personal. Awo on the other hand did not make notable efforts to reconcile. The SE does not hate the SW and educated people like us don’t hate our brothers in the SE.

Free your mind from all these tribal nonsense, the white only see us as one people that are at the bottom of the food chain and we cannot progress with this attitude. Germany and GB nearly finished themselves in WW2 but today look at them cooperating and progressing. Black man in Nigeria has been hating themselves since 1960 - 2024

The South East voted Obasanjo simply because the South West don't want Obasanjo but Olu Falae. It is as straight forward as that. The South East will never go the way of the South West even if it means killing themselves.

I can give a million and one examples.

As minister of finance, Chief Awolowo's ministry paid £20 only to those former Biafrans whose account records were lost, and to those who held their bank balances in Biafran Pounds.
Since they could not prove how much they had in their accounts, they got a blanket £20. That money was a gift from Nigeria. Those former Biafrans who could prove their account balances received all their monies.

The late Senator Arthur Nzeribe is an example of an Igbo who could prove his account balances. All former Biafrans who had accounts in banks outside the Eastern Region got access to all their funds after the war. The late Chief Alex Ekwueme is an example of this.

In every part of NIgeria, Igbos got their abandoned property back, except in Rivers, where their own fellow Igbo speaking peoples, who somehow say they are not Igbos, seized their property.

Also, there were cases of seized abandoned property in modern day Benue. But it did not happen elsewhere.

Chief Alex Ekwueme is again an example of this. Although he was not really friends, per se, with the recently departed Otunba Subomi Balogun, they lived close to each other. Just before the outbreak of the civil war, Alex Ekwueme left Lagos for the Eastern Region, like most prudent Igbos.

After the war, he returned to Lagos and, surprisingly, met his house in a renovated condition. While he was wondering what happened, his neighbour, Mr. Subomi Balogun, approached him and gave him his back rent in cash.

Chief Ekwueme's children are still alive and can attest to this.

Put yourself in Awolowo’s shoes. Many of the banks in the then Eastern Region had been destroyed. The accounts were in Biafran pounds. Records were lost. And even the banks deliberately destroyed records for fear of being punished for holding Biafran currencies, which had been declared a crime of economic sabotage against Nigeria by General Gowon's government.

Furthermore, after the war, Awolowo paid the Eastern states all their monies from the Federation Account from 1967-1970. He invested it and returned it to them, for which he was acknowledged by SG Ikoku, the Commissioner for Economic Development in East Central State, in the Daily Times of May 22, 1971.

Every family in former Biafra owes a debt of gratitude to the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo. But sadly, many parents who should have taught their children this documented history have instead filled them with hatred by regaling them with wartime propaganda.

These records are still available.

In addition, majority of them don't even have up to £5 in their accounts but still got the £20.

Normally, the government was not supposed to give them 1 Kobo, in war, losers don't dictate the terms for the victors.

Eko atlantic founded in 2003 was Tinubu's idea. The records are there. Eko Atlantic development is being carried out as a Public–private partnership (PPP) with private companies and investors providing the funding, whilst Lagos State Government(LASG) is a strategic partner.

The development started with Tinubu. Fashola just continued the work of Tinubu e.g LAMATA is a good example.

Was Obi a politician until not long after he was brought out of Abacha's gulag?
