The whole of VI was once a swamp

Where the Dangote Refinery is located was once a swampy area

Construction work for the Lagos calabar road is ongoing at Eleko, where the road will pass through at Eleko is a swampy area, go there and check how it's been built up

Swampy area is not a big deal

Go and makw research about the bonny bodo road

do you know how swampy the Niger delta is? guy this is not draining of VI or Lekki i have been there and it is highly intense and deep, during colonial times even the british abandoned the idea severally. If you have been there, you will not even utter this rubbish.

Bonny Bodo road is very minuscule compared to sandfilling a large portion of a very deep mangrove swamp that stretches for miles from Delta to Rivers.

Yeah, with single incident, no one will agree to follow the road again.
To me, the existing roads should be fixed and the rest of the money should be channel into agriculture

Igbos have been always denied their identity whenever they want to make a bad remark they usually hide under the south south people to carryout their evil habits. Like this op claiming port Harcourt. He forgot that average Niger delta will rather channel their energy on something that will more productive.

The useless being forget that the whole of lagos island even part of surulere and some part of ikoyi even the whole of Eko Atlantic and part of oworo were ocean and they sand filling it to be habitable for people.

The project that have been in place for over 30 years no administration's ever talk about it and each administration stolen trillion of naira even if not dollars self? If those money stolen by this individual can be channel to this project would the project will still be there?
Some of you are just criticizing without constructive even including your boss peter obi but you guys from that region really get empty brain spits on your head bro.

mind you there is a cyber crime law that outlaws dog whistling and hope you also know that Tribal incitement is a crime punishable by jail term, if you think these guys cannot track you down you are joking, now back to your argument. Do you know that the same time Surulere and other areas were being sandfilled in the 60s the British also considered sandfilling some parts of the delta, do you know why they abandoned it? the project is not feasible and it is very expensive and the ecological effects will be mind boggling. it is sheer stupidity to compare a small Lagos with an immense area that is the drainage basin of one of Africa's longest rivers( the River Niger). Make una dey use una sense when una wan argue.

with the present insecurity in the country, that road will be a den of criminals

Even with a promise of N10M, I cannot drive through such a road. The ones that pass on land and visible communities is insecure, tall more of a road deep inside swamp forest.

Tinubu is only deceiving himself. cheesy

There's no big deal in it. Bridges and roads were constructed on the bonny bodo road, it will be done one the Lagos calabar road too. The most important thing is money. So far there are funds available, the construction of road and bridges in Delta, Bayelsa and Aka Ibom is not a big deal

The Eleko axis that's currently been sandfilled is a swampy area. Victoria Island was once a swampy area

Where the Dangote refinery is located is a swampy area

They know it's highly impossible..

Tinubu will build only Lagos side, then promise SS that he will complete it if they vote him in 2027, since his Northern Masters have started forsaken him..

The unrealistic project is all about siphoning of public fund and 2027 election plans

Gbam! Been saying it for weeks. This project is all about compensating Lagos with the coastal road. Once the Lagos section is completed the rest na voicemail.

If some part of the Atlantic ocean can be sandfilled and a city built on it, sandfilling and building bridges on the swampy terrain of the Niger delta.

bros don't be a lousy prick here. Do you think designing that kind of bridge in that challenging area is beans? I guess you have not even been to the Niger delta that is why you can openly speak this kind of nonsense.

what is the depth of that part of the atlantic that was sandfilled? do you know that the Niger delta has more than 13 river distributaries and 2 major distributary points (Forcados and Nun) and at the point of emptying into the Atlantic that is where the coastal road is going through and you think River currents and Ocean currents will affect whatever reclamation you will do.

We told you about Buhari, you did not listen.

We're now telling you about Tinubu, you're not listening.

That road will not go beyond Ogun!. You were told the Calabar end will start July, lets wait and see. July is not far
SoNature:
Before Peter Obi ever criticised that road, I did first. My argument was that those trillions of naira (they said the FG will pay 50% of 15 trillion which is about 7.5 trillion) should be invested in agriculture and power. Prices of foodstuff are becoming alarming and a country of 200 million people doesn't distribute up to 5000 megawatts of power; almost the whole economy runs on generators.

However, APC members and their foot soldiers are now deploying tribal politics to the whole argument that this road isn't a priority. So, I want to appeal to my Igbo brothers to halt all arguments concerning this road because they are now inciting the South South people against us.

This is the only thing APC knows how to do best - divide and rule. It has worked so well in Lagos guber elections and they have brought it to national politics. Unfortunately, they keep taking Nigeria backwards because facts and figures don't lie.

Chagoury is the one funding this whole madness. And we have Nigerian politicians that would destroy their citizens homes and livelihoods for a foreigner to benefit

He's not a foreigner, he's 100% Nigerian , born right here in Lagos. He runs a Nigerian company with thousands of Nigerian workers. He's more Nigerian than you sef.

Let us apologize for any inconvenience or unpleasantness you have experienced," wrote Jim Kennedy of the Department of Homeland Security's Traveler Redress Inquiry Program in an April letter obtained by the Center

"Please understand that in order to detect those international travelers involved in illicit activities, we must, at times, unfortunately inconvenience law-abiding travelers," the DHS official wrote to Chagoury in April.

The formal waiver allowing him, his family and private jet pilots to travel again to the U.S. was finally granted last week.

You are a victim of your own ignorance.

What's the coastal road got to do with USA or Abacha?

The same USA bought land from him to build the largest US embassy in the world .

They same USA apologized to him and allowed him and his family to travel all over the US.

Curb your hatred and ignorance and educate yourself.

Even though it would benefit my state(Port Harcourt) if it was possible. People shouting coastal highway have never been to the water front areas,

If you have ever been to Lagos and you know third mainland bridge. That's the kind of bridge you would need that will cut across the stretch of Delta State, Bayelsa and Port Harcourt talkless of Akwa Ibom.

These areas are creeks and mangroves sea.

For me what I understand it's going on here is that Chagoury man wants to use coastal highway tactics to claim Lagos water front. That's why his company started sand filling wether anyone like it or not.

The first picture below is Delta State area alone. To fund the high bridge that will cross these areas America, Chinese and Europeans will have to come together to fund it for us.

How were these built? Besides the road is not a straight line like in your illustration.

I will say it again, as SS person who strongly supported PO in the last election, PO and the Igbos need to drop this matter. There are many other things to attack the govt over. Tinubu has laid a trap for PO and the Igbos, and they are walking right into it. Support for PO is dropping fast across the SS. Come 2027 you can already see the attack line APC will deploy in the SS. 'The Igbos don't want the SS to develop....'. In politics you don't give you enemy amunition.
lol so only a coastal road will develop SS, you guys must really be dumb bleeps .if your oil can’t develop your region what makes you think a coastal road will .. dumb bleeps .
